Dont get me wrong I am already saved and in Christ. But i am guilty of this despair. I have a lot of good reasons. But I am worried cause when I die maybe this depair will make me turn away from the great kning and I will perhaps then be doomed to endure eternity without Him. Even the thought of that drives me to greater despair. But remember I spent 3 years in jail as an innocent and maybe that makes it more despairing. I see little hope but I refuse to offend the King with my infinite small mindedness. Let not me be but let the King be glorified. Evn if I live in misery let me say Christ not me.

May I recommend a book to you that has helped many Christians who have encountered difficulties - 'The Pilgrim's Progress' by John Bunyan (1628-1688). One of the first books I read when I became a Christan, and one of the most inspirational.

Christian encounters many enemies and difficulties on his spiritual journey - one is the giant, Despair, who lives in Doubting Castle. Christian and his companion are locked away in the dungeon, but the key called 'Promise', releases them.

Bunyan wrote this allegory while in Bedford prison - the story is one of encouragement to Christians everywhere and will lift you up, spiritually. I strongly recommend it, my friend.

I personally sometimes think that despair is one of the 'crosses' that people have to bear in life. It can be very hard. Sometimes and antidepressant helps. Prayer always helps, even if you just let God know that you are despairing. I'll say a prayer for you today at Church.

Peace.

You have not committed the "unforgivable sin". You seem already to be repentant of whatever sin you commited that has drained your hope. Perhaps your problem is depression and counseling and medication may help. Sometime physical exercize can help. Find people that you can confide in and who will "reality test" you.
Our faith-life is not primarily a set of feelings for feelings come and go and are chemical responses. Faith is beleiving the Trinity no matter what we feel. Make acts of trust in Jesus ,even aloud when you are alone with Him for Jesus loves you and He is there for you.
The experience of shame can pull us down but Christ has borne everything for us all. We are praying for you.

Sometimes God allows us to suffer to come to know him better. Many of the apostles spent time in prison and of course Jesus was falsely imprisoned an ultimately crucified an innocent man. God used all these men and his son in a special way. You have insight that others do not have. You may despair but you remain a christian. Suffering comes in many forms and yours is just as valid as any ones. God will see you through this time if you remain faithful, and hearing your story I believe he wants to use you in a special way. Keep the faith and God bless you.

Despair is not a sin. It is an emotion. Find joyful things to bring you out of that.
Christ was in despair often for the way he was treated. He was a man of sorrows,,,read the Bible for yourself.

Believe me, it's not the way God intended for us to live. I've struggled with depression myself. I've had times in the past I refer to as the deep-darks. I know how debilitating, insidious and all-pervasive it can be. Please, find a good therapist. One who will support you in your religious efforts (it may not be the first one you go to). I don't know what resources there are in Ireland for assisting someone in getting help, but there has to be some. Failing that, at least talk to your pastor.

You don't have to be in despair, you don't have to let depression keep control of your life. Please get some help. You deserve it.
I'll be praying for you

Religion shouldn't cause anxiety. I think you need to see a therapist to discuss some of your problems.

This is one reason why religion can be bad. Instead of inspiring people, it can just make them feel miserable, guilty, and full of despair.

Despair is even worse for people like me who know the Bible is alot of contradictory bs. And just a fable. Be glad that you at least deluded yourself enough into believing that the Bible is real and that God exists.

Seek mental help. Letting the maybes of the future control how you feel today means you aren't living in reality.

Where there is yet breath in the body and a willing spirit there is hope. We all have our struggles. Keep walking.
