I bought a cheap bike from target this week. The sales lady told me that a 24" wheel is good for my height (5'2"). I just need the thing to practice so I didn't bother to argue. Plus I know nothing about bikes. I haven't ridden it outside yet but standing next to it now, I feel a bit ridiculous, especially since it says it's a girl's bike. I'm a 23 yr-old who's never had a bike before. I feel that it's safe for standing and reaching the ground. So should I return it and get a 26" or does it not matter?

Thanks.

Most of what they sell at Target and Wal-Mart is junk. And I'll bet it weighs a ton!

Take it back to Target, get your money back and go to your local bike shop. They will have knowledgeable sales people that will know better what you need. And they wil be able to fit you properly with they right size bike, which will make for a more comfortable ride. A bike shop bike might cost a little more, but it's worth it. Most bike shops also offer a free 30 day tune-up on all bikes.

Yes, return this bike and go to a bike store. Target and other big box stores are notorious for selling bikes of low quality assembled by stock room staff. Additionally, they do not have knowledgeable sales people to help you. Go to a bike shop. You may pay more for a bike, but it will pay off in service and reliability. Adjustments on a bike bought at Target can add up.

I'd return it and go for the 26" because it'll fit you better and you don't want to have back pain. As another note, don't buy bikes from Target/Wal-mart. Actually go to a bike dealer and they'll tell you the size and type of bike you'd probably want. You'll get a better feel and plus, you can test it before you buy it.

go for whats comfortable. getting the next size up is probably worth it...if you don't enjoy walking around in clothes way too snug for you, why pedal around on a small bike. just change it for the new, and maybe a better quality at a bike shop. you'll be happier later when your back and legs aren't hurting you

At 4 months, and that i assume you probably did some MTB driving, your bike is used. regardless of your relationship with the keep, they could take a loss on an finished refund, so even as they could allow you to convert (it relies upon in the experience that they deal in used motorcycles in any respect) it should be asking too a lot for a one hundred% commerce in fee. i imagine they'll artwork with you yet do not assume them to eat the loss thoroughly. clarify what you opt to them and ask what's the superb they could do for you.
