Matt 6:24-34
"No man can serve two masters ... Ye cannot serve God and mammon.
"Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than the meat, and the body than raiment?
"Behold the fowls of the air; for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?
"And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:
"Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith? ..."

Matthew 19:21-29
"Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.
...
"And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name's sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life."

Orion, you know like I know, Christians are the most hypocritical animals on the planet. They will not obey these verses, and they don't consider them when they talk about the things that Jesus commanded. They know Jesus won't do anything if they don't follow (which, to some would imply they don't believe in Jesus, they're closet Atheists), but they still want to tell you about how YOUR beliefs (Open Atheism) are a one way ticket to hell.

Can any religious text make claims that are not self-justifying, and if not, doesn't this mean the Bible is just as truthful as the next Occult book?

If people are brought up in a particular religion, is it anything other than brainwashing if they then never question WHY they hold that particular faith?

It's interesting to apriciate that Buddhism appeals far more to philosophy on grounding it's claims, than most other religions, and encourages you to think exactly why you should accept views. If Christianity never does this, is it not spirituality at all, rather just brainwashing?

What the first passage is saying is that you should trust God. Don't be so materialistic, and worry about if you will have enough. If you have faith and trust in God, he will provide for you, just like he does for the grass and flowers. It has nothing to do with living better than the Son of God. We are supposed to follow Jesus' example and help the poor, the outcasts, the sick. We need to give back to our community.

Over the years the lifestyle did change..so our lifestyle is different because of technology and many reasons..
But we should always remember that the son of god wants us to have mercy on each other, love and peace.

The way I interpret the above quote is thus:

God will provide for all of our needs. We are to appreciate the gifts He has given us and not worry about gathering more.

Are you saying that Jesus advocated a simpler life than modern society provides?

Are you saying that people who want to be seen as holy and pious want the good life here on earth as well as after-life in heaven? (All Tartuffes?)

If so, I agree.

You do not seem to even believe in God so why are you so concerned about this matter that you keep posting it over and over again.
