A prayer, as I see it, is a verbal action that shows your devotion and option about God. A prayer can be memorized, such as The Lord's Prayer, or a prayer can be improvised, such as a prayer to help my uncle get through a current illness.

Prayer is a late-term symptom of Religion. it is one of the most accurate, non-medical means of determining whether or not a suspected person has been infected with Religion.

At it's most basic, prayer is essentially talking to God. It can take many forms ( use of prayer beads/rosary, kneeling, group prayer ) and cover many areas ( giving thanks, asking for blessings, requesting wisdom/understanding ) but always involves giving a few moments of your time to devoted conversation with God.

It is supposed to be literate.

Matthew 6 says that it's like going into your interior room and talking with your heavenly Father in private.

It then says that repeating things in a babbling fashion will not bring any response just because there are many words. It's not supposed to be like phonology or like hopscotch into the neighbour's place.

It's also not supposed to be in public as if prayed to whoever's listening. It might be answered, but it wouldn't be by God.

it is when you open up your heart and have a nice conversation with God. It might be not as nice as you wish, every time you pray. Sometimes you might be mad at God but He is so loving and good that He always understands and will never get mad at you for what you are saying. But remember: no matter how you do it, try to always be respectful for He does deserve all of our respect.

Prayer is the expression of our relationship with God. Prayer can be worship and praise, petition, or repentance.

Prayer is tapping into the greater conciousness. Some call it God, Allah, Great Spirit, Goddess, Creator, etc.
It is when we bind our conciousness to this source and others to better our world with wishes or requests or praise and thanksgiving.

Prayer is nothing but wishful thinking. Believed by plenty of idiots around this world. Although it's success rate is far lesser than even the rate of co-incidence.

Be prepared to move the mountains... HAHAHAHAHA!!!
