300 watt RMS Sub, 3/4 is typically good for all applications, However you need to know the Airspace for that sub, Usually found in the owners manual or on the website for the manufacturer of your sub. You also need to decide what style box you want to build. Sealed, :Bandpass, Ported. The airspace changes with all 3. At 300RMS your sub is probably inexpensive and you should realistically just purchase a premade box for it. Unless you have a specific place you want to put it that a premade box wont fit. Non the less do your research on airspace and the type of box you want to build. Simply copying the dimensions of a premade box is redundant. Might as well buy the premade box. If you need airspace requirements for your sub send me your make and model and I will see what i can find. :)

The thickness you want is 3/4 in. Did you know there's alot more to building a speaker(especially a sub) then just making any size box, cutting a couple holes and slapping in some speakers. You better find a sub box (already built) and copy the measurements that way you don't ''under build'' or ''over build'' the box and end up with blown speakers(from wrong dampening factor/inside box dimensions)

it depends on the size of your subs. but in my knowledge, the thickness should always be half the thickest that you can find for full support.
