The event founder says she received a call from the Fairfax office of U-S Citizenship and Immigration Services. Maria Roe says that when she asked why the office was interested in Sunday's event, she didn't get an answer.

She says she called off the festival she launched three years ago because she didn't want anyone taken from their families by authorities, whether they're illegal or not.

A spokeswoman for Immigration Services says the office called only to find out more about the festival and its location. She says it wanted to offer information on how the office can help immigrants with visa applications, citizenship requests and other support.
