it depends on the type of radio you are installing and the make, model, and yr of car.

Some cars have the BCM(body control module) linked into the radio for certain procedures just be careful that the radio that you are installing can be properly wired into your car.

it depends on the car. for instance the first few years of the new beetle the diagnostic output for engine managment system ran through the factory radio if a aftermarket radio was installed no trouble codes could be accessed and each componants had to be tested individualy untill all faults were found. on other cars the factory alarm systems will not allow the car to start. unless properly re wired when new radio is installed [fortunatly the manufactures figured out that this was a bad idea fairly early on so not too many systems were wired this way] [insult to injury factor, car was broken into and dash ripped out to steal the radio and now customer can't even drive it home] note transcievers, like for emergency services, can produce enough R.F. signals to shut down a computer if the antenna is not properly routed or grounded [like the old "bag" type cell phones used to do.

To give an accurate answer, we need to know what the model/year of your vehicle is.

Some manufacturers tie the radio into the vehicle's data bus and use it to perform some vehicle functions, but there are usually after-market products available to replace the factory radio without causing problems.

Not unless you buy an aftermarket transmitter and jack it up to 50,000 watts. Those stupid speakers with 500 watts will do more vibration damage than a normal receiver will.
