Hi, I am 29 and I have braces. I got them 2 months ago. First off, you are never too old for braces. Treatment can sometimes take a little longer for adults because our teeth are fully developed, but other than that they can be straightened. To be eligible for orthodontodontic treatment though the orthodontist will carry out an examination of your mouth. As long as your teeth are healthy, you have no signs of severe bone loss, no cavities or decay then you can have orthodontic treatment. You also need to demonstrate that you have good oral hygiene. Also do you have ant root canals? Although you can have orthodontic treatment with root canals it can make treatment a little more difficult and thus if you have too many root canals an orthodontist may be reluctant to treat you. Also if you smoke, you will be advised to quit!!

Well I'm 18 and i have braces, and Ive seen loads of older people with braces too. It will work. but just not as quickly as it would in children.. as the bones wont be as easy to move.

As for how long and how much it costs it depends on what state your teeth are in, Ive got braces on my top and bottom teeth and it cost £2000 and i have to wear them for 18months.
