Side effects for risperidone include:

Central nervous system: extrapyramidal symptoms (dose dependent; adults 17% to 34%; children 28%) (this includes twitching)

Ocular: Abnormal vision (1% to 6%), accommodation disturbances (≥5%)

There are more side effects but these are the most likely cause of the eye "twitch"

kind of an odd symptom with risperidal. most twitching comes with amphetamines but, anything is possible. the problem with twitching is, once it starts, it becomes habit, even if the meds are lowered or discontinued. my son had horrible twitching problems when he was younger and even when he came off the meds it was about a month before he stopped. i'm guessing he said benadryl to calm him down? that kind of seems like overkill. would it be possible to stop the meds all together for a while then start back up at a lower does to see what happens? the only other thing i can think of is to try something else. that's what we had to do with our son. best of luck to you.

I looked in my PDR, and all I could find was that a common side effect is blurred vision. This may be why he is blinking excessively....to clear his vision.
