Wouldn't my mother have to marry a man that has absolutely no blood relation to me at all, in order for me to be his step-daughter? If so, if she divorced him, would I no longer be his step-daughter?

And, is there a different term for a situation in which a woman has a son with one man, they divorce, and she has a daughter with another man? Is the daughter related to the first husband at all?

Yes. Your mother would have to marry a man, after your father, who is not related to you in order for you to be a step-daughter.

Legally, if they divorced, you are no longer his step-daughter. However, some people have a good relationship with a step parent, and maintain the relationship even when the marriage doesn't work.

And in your last case, the daughter is a half-sister to the son, and no relation to the father of the son.

Aren't relationships complicated these days?

To answer the first question, if your mom married him then you would be his step daughter; however, if they divorced ...well you would not technically be his step daughter however depending on the situation he could still call you his step daughter.....I still consider my first husbands daughter my step daughter...like I said it depends on the situation....

To answer your second question, you are not related at all to your mom's first husband....and I do not know what you would actually call him except by his first name
