I am studying Japanese in college and I am getting ready for level 200 courses. I was wondering if it is legal for me to use a Japanese version of Windows on one of my computers. Also if I am able to where do I find it?

Thanks

If you are using Windows XP, all you have to do is install the East Asian language font packs. Here is the procedure:
1. Go to the Control Panel.
2. Double click the Regional and Language Options icon.
3. Click the Languages tab.
4. Check the Install files for East Asian languages box.
5. Click OK and follow instructions.
6. Click the Regional Options tab. Be sure that your Standards and Formats is set to English (US) and your Location down at the bottom of the window is set to "United States".
7. Click the "Advanced" tab.
8. Be sure the "language to match the language version of the non-Unicode programs you want to use" field is set to Japanese.
9. Click OK
10. The language bar should now appear. To type Japanese, be sure the button on the left of the language bar displays "JP" and the icon between the red dot-like icon and the "stuffed pain can" icon shows hiragana あ. If it does not, click on it and change the input method to hiragana.

If you only need to type japanese characters, and if you're using Microsoft Word or any Microsoft Office application, then you can actually download from the Microsoft website, IMEI files. These will enable you to type japanese text in hiragana, katakana, etc.

there is not any longer a diverse version. They use an identical version of homestead windows you do in Japan, yet in eastern language. in case you circulate to the administration panel there's a languages icon. you should be waiting to alter to eastern there.

It would be legal, if you buy it from Microsoft.
