Okay. I am a 12 year old and I have been a Christian since I was a baby. I went to church for 12 years - basically all my life. My whole family is full-blooded Christians (no Catholic, Buddism..) And I am, or thought I was faithful, but I realized that I wasn't. My relationship with Him has gradually and dramatically shortened. But I want it back. Can anyone give me some advice AND some websites for me? And remember, I am only 12 years old, so none of that adult-speaking-language-I-can't-understand advice please, that goes for websites also. And I will thank all of you in my prayer when my relationship is fully healed. Thank you very much~

Hi. My name is Tammy and im 17. The same thing happened with me. My parents are pastors and I have grown up my whole life as a Christian. But I also lost my relationship with Him (which i have back now)

You see the thing is that you dont need any websites or books or whatever to help you. All that you need is to start talking to Him again, and listen for Him to answer you. Put all your trust in Him and your relationship in Him will grow.

All you need to do is draw closer to Him...

James 4:8 says "Draw close to God, and God will draw close to you..."

God Bless you!

Every Christian feels the same way you do from time to time. You'll find that the same thing happens in every relationship (friends, family, wives/husbands) and is perfectly natural and ok. Just know that God will always love you and accept you just as you are.

Without knowing more about why you feel like you're drifting away, I suppose you may not be feeling fulfilled in Church? If so, you might want to take some time and read the book referenced below. It makes some of the things you see in Church make more sense for you, makes them more important and relevant too.

God bless

Tell you a story about me I had the same problem when I was younger and finally got mad at the Creator( God) and basically told him I don't want you or need you I am going away forever and never coming back and I stayed away for a while. Then one day when I thought I was doing fine by myself the Creator(God)came around and started talking to me again(I had some bad experiences with religion)and I left but he was patient and when I came to a point on the inside of me where I was just unhappy the Creator(God)came around and we had a good talk and he listened to my problems(he is big enough that you can talk to him honest and I promise he won't get mad.) Do you remember in the bible Jesus said "In my Father's house there are many mansions." Guess what you are one of those mansions. Jesus also said "Behold I stand at the door and knock and whosoever will let me come in and I will sup with them." This was talking about the believer not just the sinner. Do you also remember that God told the Israelites in Isiah "Come let us reason together though your sins be as scarlet I can wash them and make them white as snow." I believe you have seen the Chronicles of Narina do you remember when Eddie messed up and went to the witch and then she treated him badly so his siblings and the others rescued him. Then him and Aslam talked. If you noticed that you saw the purest form of love no hate, no judgement only love. God is waiting for you to sit down and have a talk with him. I promise when you do he will listen and not get mad. God is waiting for you and he is no more than a prayer away. Before you were born God put a prayer into your heart(you see he knew by name when you were a twinkle in your parents eyes.) "Before you were formed I knew you and called you by name." God wants you and you alone to say the prayer that he put into your heart. Each of us have a prayer that the Creator(God) puts into our heart(our innermost being)at the time of our birth and no one on this Earth can say our prayer for us but us. If you don't know what your prayer is ask Creator(God)to show you and if you can't say it how you want to just sit in a quiet place and be quiet with a grateful heart and he will show you. Think about this when you get mad at your family you may say things at the time that you mean but later on you come to each other and say I'm sorry. Does that mean that you hate each other or stopped loving each other? No. When you come back together and apologize then all is okay. The Creator(God) is waiting for you. Think about this if you were to have a price tag on your head what would it say? Paid in full by the blood of the Lamb(Jesus) You are worth so much to the Creator(God)he offered his only son for you. I hope this has helped my younger sister and realized you were healed 2000 years ago on a Cross(Paid in full by the blood of the Lamb)

I have a story similar to yours; I grew up in a southern baptist church until I was 18 and was told it was my decision on what to do. Like the kid I was, I quit going and went about with life. Got into drugs and crime, and spent about the next 3 years going against everything I had once believed in. It just aches in your heart when you stray, like you feel like everything you do is wrong. Every iffy situation I tried to justify.

I had my "awakening" so to speak, and cleaned up. I also took back up the Christian beliefs, and the struggle of life that comes along with it. It just feels better to me. Like wondering in the dark and finding a light. I don't know much more I can tell you than that. Hope it helps.

I want to congratulate you on your sentence structure and your grammar. I think that you are being educated beyond your age. That's a compliment. ( ;

Sd fsr sd bring born into the Christian faith; it is said that God has no grandchildren, and you are coming to terms with your own direction. This requires for you to redefine your commitments and genuine stance on the God that you were born to trust in. If this isn't God's doing, I don't know what is.

And then there is the good news of it all; because you want to 'want it back'. You couldn't want it back unless you truly were being guided to him in the first place. It wouldn't be in you to want a relationship- or want to know what truth is unless you had the authentic draw of God pulling you in that direction. You personally.

So God chose you to be with him. God chose you to have that relationship that many of us enjoy.

Good ! The brainwashing is going away.
One thing you should know :

Believing that invisible things are around you, watching you, reading your mind, listening and/or talking to you, influencing your life, having irrational thoughts like life after death or dead people coming back to life etc... are all symptoms of a potentially serious mental disease called schizophrenia.
The first signs of this disease often occur at the beginning of adolescence. If you start experiencing any of these symptoms you should see a psychiatrist without delay and talk to him about it.

You don't need reading material. You just have to make the time for God. Set everything aside for a little time each day just for God. Pray, if you feel compelled to, or just take a walk and notice all the beautiful things He has made. Let Him know how thankful you are to be alive. Don't make it harder than it is.

Y!A is dominated by agenda driven people, so be careful about trusting people (including me). You are at an age where you are beginning to be able to think for yourself (you won't believe me on this until you are 30). It is time you begin to investigate. Burn no bridges, but turn to people you can trust and ask them for guidance -- not answers, but the sources of answers. Web sites are biased. Don't look for quick answers, but rather satisfying answers that take time to digest. I am providing a link to a secularly written Bible guide. It is one of many, so don't necessarily choose it or the supplier from the link. There are many choices. You know your goal. Determine your options.

Trust your instincts. Maybe your old enough to figure out religion is for those that need it, those that need to have some higher power to force them to be a good person. Maybe you are one of those rare people who have outgrown religion and are capable of taking on all the questions of the universe by yourself.
