IF it is NOT cardiac (heart) related, this is a tell-tale sign of spinal misalignment. This pain is almost always associated with a rib being slightly out of place. Somestimes the pain will wrap around the ribs, or just go straight through from the sternum to the thorasic region of the back.

Go to a reputable Chiropractor and he will align everything. If you don't go the pain will eventually go away, but it will keep coming back, and worsen, unless you fix the cause.

Your spine controls so many nerves and muscles that's why the pain can shoot Through your whole body. apply ice packs for ten minutes of the time and see if this helps.

I recommend you see a chiropractor as they specialize in the spine. See one as soon as possible. I've enclosed a link where you can find one in your area.
