I installed WinXP in a different folder, now I need to edit boot.ini? Can you post your boot.ini for Vista?

Windows says they do not recommend 2 OS s in 1 partition. Other than virtual, I can't see why you would try it.

If I understand your question, you have a PC that came with Vista. Then, you installed XP.

Won't work, XP must be installed FIRST. You should have called your PC vendor's tech support before you tried this.

TIP: If Vista came on a Recovery DVD, don't bother, it CAN'T be done, period. Call your PC vendor's tech support to find out how to fix what you did.
