it may be a sign that your child has some kind of allergies. record what your 2 year old eats and watch for signs. my son was allergic to milk and eggs and every time he had any of that he got dirreah with a rush. best thing to do is see a different doctor or at least have your doctor send your child to a specialist. another reason that your child is having dirreah could be related to teething check the gums. when my son was teething he had always dirreah until the tooth came.

GET A SECOND OPINION FROM ANOTHER DOCTOR OR BETTER YET A PEDIATRICIAN!! There is NO excuse that a Doctor should say that there is nothing to worry about, especially when it comes down to diarrhea. There are LOTS of things that could cause this and I'm sure your 2 year old isn't really liking the fact that he's pooping up a storm. Keep him well hydrated with water and pedialyte, until you can get him into another doctor. Hopefully he is keeping food down as well. I hope I have been helpful in your search for an answer and Good Luck! I hope your little one gets better!

Hi Marie, My 17 month old daughter had the same thing. She had gardia which is a water parasite. Next time your 2 year old poos take the nappy straight to the doctor & demand for a poo test as thats the only way to find out whats wrong.
Diahorra for anyone that goes longer than 3 days is not normal.

Diarrhea can be serious and can result in dehydration. If you do not feel confident in your doctors response it is always best to seek a second opinion, after all this is your daughters health, and you need to do whatever is in her best interest. In the meantime be sure to give her plenty of pedialite to keep her hydrated and start keeping a log of what she eats and how often she is going, as this info may be very helpful to her doctor. I hope this helps and good luck.

go to another doctor or see a pediatrician.
it could also be diet related. when my eldest had diarrhea for a few weeks the doctors said to take her off of food and just feed her pedialite for one day then ease her onto food again such as mashed potato and rice cereal (starch foods) and not to give milk as children can sometimes get a temporary lactose intolerance which lead to further diarrhea and vomitting.
good luck

you should go to your health visitor and if nothing happens then demand a second opinion. you as a parent know something is wrong so shout from the rooftop till someone listens. it could be a food allergy.

DITCH THAT LAME PEDIATRICIAN! A child or adult can die from having diarrhea that long. That is ridiculous. Are you confusing diarrhea with a soft stool? If not, then i suggest you find out if the baby is lactose intolerant or has food allergies. Teething can make babies ill, but it doesn't take three months of diarrhea to cut their little sets of teeth. Also, make sure you are washing dishes thoroughly and have your water checked out. If you live nasty, then toddlers tend to put everything in their mouths which can make them sick, (i.e. dirty bottles, cups, dishes, silverware, etc...)
It never ceases to amaze me when I see posts like this because fact is, if you aren't bright enough to figure out that your child is in dire straits as far the child's health is concerned (diarrhea for 3 months??? Without getting a second opinion???), then you should have used birth control! I don't care about your feelings because of my post. I care about how your child is feeling though because it sounds like he is in the hands of somebody who would rather waste valuable time on the computer, taking what could be valuable time off your child's life span to ask a world of unqualified strangers about a very serious health issue concerning a very young child instead of getting their child to a hospital! What are you asking us for? WE ARE NOT QUALIFIED TO DIAGNOSE YOUR BABY It really isn't that hard.
My parental instinct would say, I am taking my child to the emergency room! Duh. I am not going to apologize for saying this to you. Read up on small children and how their health should be. And you cannot stand up without a spine if you don't stand up to your lame pediatrician. Demand what you want for your child. Sitting back on your haunches and taking whatever this quack says for Bible is lazy on your part. You take that child to the emergency room or another doctor. It really isn't that hard to figure out.
Not all doctors are any good. No offense. Use common sense. Diarrhea in an adult is dangerous when it continues for more than three days. Jimeny crickets. Sorry I am not sympathetic with you but you sound like birth control should have been your choice if you're not smart enough to know your child is very sick and could die because it is much easier to take the child to the same lame dr because if your child does die, you can sue the doctor while not taking any blame on yourself for not using common sense. I bet you're going to tell us all that your child's rear end isn't raw too, huh?OUT!
