Back here in Australia I thought it was quite affordable $49.95. It would have been good if some big sponsor would have picked up the costs and we could watch it for free but that would be thinking. Business idiots don't do that.
It was good because it went down to the wire. It wasn't an easy fight and no quarter was given. A tough test for both fighters. Which is what super fights are about, value for money and a good contest. Bringing boxing back to the fight fan and bringing the spot light onto the lighter weight divisions. Another good reason why hopefully boxing will come back into a golden age. Better quality fights between better quality fighters.
I just thought that Oscar won the fight for two reasons. It was always the rule that the challenger takes the fight to the champion and I thought Oscar as the champion took the fight to Floyd, and if there is an element of doubt in a close fight then the champion should get the benefit of the doubt.
Another disturbing factor with the fight is whenever there is a controversial decision aren't those judges always involved.
Judges Jerry Roth, Chuck Giampa and Tommy Kaczmarek, all veteran Las Vegas judges. Not because they are veteran judges but there decision making is always at question when it comes to tight calls like this. I wonder about how the actually judge the fight and on what criteria. Did Oscar get a raw deal, similar to the Felix Triidad fight.
That's just my opinion.

it was an ok fight i will never pay for a mayweather run around the ring and throw a couple here and there fight again. it should have been a draw just due to the fact oscar made the fight a fight and actual initiated all the action and effective aggresion. floyd is an awesome fighter but he ran alot more then he stood and banged, great fighter yes but borrrrinnngggg. i hope floyd will retire because i am sick of hearing about him he is more into himself then he is into boxing. he is a dull fighter that makes people fall asleep in the stands and that is horrible for boxing. i am prlly going to just watch mma from now on.

You are all thinking with your hearts. Oscar is nice, Floyd is cocky. Who cares???? Floyd outboxed Oscar all night long. I wanted Oscar to win too (I am Mexican) but Floyd was too fast for him. Oscar threw many punches and missed the heavy majority people. You dont score points for that. As a former boxer I know sometimes people think because if you are the harder puncher you should get more points when you land punches and that is a fallacy. Floyd landed the cleaner, crisper punches as well. Look at the punch stats and they will remind you of another fight from 20 years ago Hagler-Leonard. Same type of fight. Faster boxer with a tighter defense moving away from Marvin's busier, tougher style. Marvin cries to this day he was robbed as do his fans. But Ray, just like Floyd, simply outboxed his opponent. Boxing is about hitting without getting hit in return. Floyd is a master at it. This isnt UFC. Floyd won fair and square and the controversy was only created to justify a rematch but even as a DLH fan I had Floyd winning by 4 or 6 pts. Oscar simply didnt use the jab like he could have and that could have changed the outcome. I am a little upset because I think he pulled the wool over our eyes to make it close enough so they could entice Floyd Jr. into a rematch and make more money off of us. He talked all week about how we were gonna be surprised at his speed (Oscar). What a crock. Oscar will probably make $30 million after all the PPV numbers are in. Floyd Jr. says he is retired now. We'll see. I am pissed off at DLH.

What's up? Yes! Really expensive and for some reason a huge pain in the a#@ to order. Anyway, the fight was alright. De La Hoya was outboxed, but Mayweather I thought was sorta running ,not hardly pressing, and never forced any action. Is typical of Mayweather though. But damn is he quick!!

I didn't see the fight, but I agree from what I've heard, Oscar should have won. Any fight that goes the distance though is usually a pretty good fight. I agree that the prices are getting outlandish, that is part of what is causing Boxing to decline in popularity, you have to pay an arm and a leg to watch a decent match.

Who ever think that Oscar should have won that fight are ignorant, Floyed controled the pace of the entire fight, and landed MORE PUNCHES at TWICE the percentage rate as Oscar's, I don't even know how it was even a split decison,
Even the announcers had Floyed winning the fight.
