Hi Gummy. I have suffered with hair loss for about 12 years, for a few reasons, I had seborrheic dermatitis, which led to hair loss, which led to stress over the situation which led to more hair-loss.
For about 6 years the hair on my crown was virtually nil and I wore my hair in a bun on top of my head for years prior to that (I am only 34).
I am now training to be a hairdresser and the understanding you gain from the science side of it and understanding the hair growth cycle has done me the world of good.
Try taking silica in tablet form, this strengthens the hair right from the papilla (root bulb) it helps the matrix to produce more hair cells and you can use a good quality shampoo too, try Headstrong by Redken, this is specifically formulated for fine or thinning hair and the formula actually re-opens the pores. It can take up to a year to have a healthy head of hair again, but I promise you, it is worth it.
I wish you the very best of luck, but importantly, you should go see your doctor too just to rule out anything more serious.
Good luck hunny and keep us posted! xx

If your hair loss is due to stress then it stands to reason that the more you worry about it the worse it will get! So do try not to worry...Easier said than done I know. I would see a doctor just to out rule any underlying illnesses as this can sometimes be a cause of hair loss. A few years ago I lost quite a bit of hair due to stress. I read an article about a lady who had suffered hair loss and after taking Aloe Vera it started to grow back. So you guessed it I went out and bought some (liquid form) and indeed my hair started to regrow. Now I know that it might have regrown anyway but I believe the Aloe Vera worked. It can't hurt to give it a try. It's reasonably priced and available from most health shops.
Good luck!
Nickie

It can be caused by stress, hormonal imbalance or vitamin deficiencies. You need to treat all these possibilities. I suffered from minor hair loss and it grew back. It was caused by stress, it is more common than people think, women just don't talk about it. The form of the pill called Dianette will help if the stress has caused a hormonal imbalance, I used it and it prevented further hair loss. You are not alone in suffering this condition, I think the best cure would be to make your life less stressfull as this is probably the main cause of your problem. Good luck :)

For hormonal reasons women seldom lose their hair the way men do. The only way to get it back is surgery: Small patches are removed at the nape of the neck and moved to the scalp. The result should be good as the hair grow and spread on top of the head the way it did beforehand.
Perhaps some hormones would help, but you should be very careful about that, also because it may not help in your case. It's individual what helps whom. Best wishes!

I started noticing loss of hair in my shower. Went on for a few months. I live a busy lifestyle and don't always eat the proper nutrients. I started taking a multivitamin for women and I have very little shedding now. So I figure I was lacking vitamins in my system. I can see new hair growth too. Thank goodness!

First of all - go to the Doc, just to rule out any serious cause. Then I suggest you give yourself an indian head massage. Use an oil containing Rosemary Oil as this will stimulate growth, wrap your head in a warm towel for half and hour after the massage and then wash using a mild (baby) shampoo. I know it sounds very 'new age' - but it does work. Good luck

In a book i read there was a recipe for hair regrowth. It was a mixture of vinegar and onion. You keep it in a bag and dab it on your head in the morning or night, i dont no which.

this happened to my sister (but not all that badly) she asked her doctor. and gave her a prescription which i forgot what it was called. it could just be from stress too. u can try asking ur doctor or make sure that u dont wash ur hair with shampoo everyday. wash it with shampoo like every 2 days but put conditioner in it everyday. i hope i helped and good luck!!
