most larger departments ( such as here in Pittsburgh ) will run your license and then a local wants and warrants and another called a NCIC ( national crime information center) if your local government has submitted your warrant information to the ncic data base then yes , it's gonna come up and yes you will be arrested . if they don't then the stopping officer will have no way of knowing , if the person who's probation is revoked and they do not turn them self in , not only are they going to face the charge that put them on probation in the first place they will also have escape charges added on and will probably look at another 3- 5 years in jail , running out on probation is a big deal . also the longer the person is not located the better chances are they will be placed in the NCIC

Yes, the warrant will show up. When a person is pulled over and an officer runs his or her name it is done via the state crime information center (like in Georgia it would be GCIC) and the national crime information center will automatically kick in after the state info. Does your friend have an active probation warrant though? Are you sure about that? If the adjudication was deferred, and he was given a date to report to jail and that date has yet to pass, I don't see why there would be an active warrant issued for his arrest. It does sound as if your friend is thinking about absconding. Word to the wise, they ALWAYS get caught.. So tell your friend to just take care of his business.

I am sorry to hear about this but when a officer does a warrant check it is on a national data system, so warrants anywhere in the US will show up

Just to firm it up for you....

Warrant checks are Nation wide. If there is a warrant, he'll get popped. The next question should be "Is it extraditable?"

No, law enforcement officers won't bother checking such trivial things as probation violations, as long as your hair is nicely combed and your face and hands are clean.

Yep. The moment he types in your driver's license or even your plate, you are HAD, if the state is sophisticated enough to have a good computer system. Try to act nice enough when you get pulled over to make him not want to run your ID.

Maybe and maybe not, but there are fewer and fewer chances one can evade detection and fewer places to hide.
Real freedom vanished a couple of generations ago in the US.
