although he came forward, he got out punched 9-5 and out power punched 5-3 (or right around that) he was lucky to come out or retirement, get a soft set up to get a title with that Mayorga fight (a guy who slugs , with little comparative boxing skills) and get another big payday in this fight with Floyd...especially since a body shot made him quit the last time he was in a real fight... its time for Oscar to hang em up... if there was to be a rematch Floyd would beat him easily...

Mayweather won by split decision. De La Hoya started strong but as the fight went on Mayweather turned it around,they both were still going hammer and nail at the final bell.

de la hoya was out punched and out powered punched he lost the fight and some say it wasn't as close as the score cards would say!
