Lets think an army craft has to enter a dense jungle or drop down in a crowded city street to control vandalism , excorting or low height patroling without big noise good for low speed transport convinent to stop halt in any place.
A copter Having 4 turbo fan boeing engine suction fan in its 4 corner operated by sun & bevel engine hydraulically from center. The 4 engine rotates 360 degree both side for lift movement balance & speed control.Bullets cannot simply destroy it.
I need a satisfied answer pals.

The description sounds like the sci-fi movies stuff.

The intriguing part is that if the engine is indestructable as mentioned, using it as a turboshaft is still the most practical method than the four extremity engines as you suggested. The reason being the complexities involved in balancing the craft in the event of a single engine malfunction. Oh, yes, the designs have to require allowances for failures, man is yet to invent something that cannot fail

BTW, the Apache and the Hind helicopters are almost immune to small arms fire.

Did you say anything about a turbojet being silent?

A chopper has a LOT of stuff that can be hit. Engine is only a tiny fraction of it.

In Blackhawk Down, both choppers are clipped by tail rotor hits, not by engine destruction.

As for the fans, they can be hit, and if they can be hit, they can be destroyed. Just imagine losing one or two blades at whatever RPM that thing is doing. That by itself will slice through the fuselage better than any external stuff.

And where's the exhaust from the engine going? Downward? Kinda hard on the people on the ground, isn't it?

Tell you what, I can't see what you're describing, so put it on the web somewhere and we'll pick it apart and help you improve it.

What your describing sounds similar to the aerial machines in the Terminator trilogy.

NASA had a similar craft that the Apollo astronauts use to train in to practice for lunar landings. From mhat ive heard, they had horrible problemswith it, most astronauts bailled out rather than land the thing.

Also think of the exhaust. The heat from those engines is tremendous. Imagine being under it when it flew low over head. And those engines arent quiet either, hence why ground crews wear protective ear pieces.

Nice concept, but very impractical.

My brother works for Mcdonald Douglas and his responce to this is "well then if bullets are not to be worried about what about an RPG?" Seriously if someone launched an RPG at this helicopter during a rescue mission itd cause more injuries/death then help. But before all the real life sceniaro youd have to worry about testing. Take a look at the Harrier records for injuries.
Dont get me wrong thats a great idea and Id like to see it happen Im just worried about adverse effects.
