I'm told the original ending (planned, never shot) was to have Hilary Faye shoot up the school, which might explain the wild series of shifts in genre throughout the movie.

It could have been a superior satire; as it was, it was sort of as if Bob Saget and Danny Tanner decided to meet halfway.

I thought half of it was great, but hated the other half. It's like it switched genres on me midstream.
