Yes it can. Just make sure your crust is nice and thick around the edge so that when you remove the ring, it will be structurally sound. I have a tart pan with the removable bottom that I use, it's another option.

Yes providing there aren't any holes in the crust. Sometimes a spring-form can leak if its got a very thin filling, and then you've got egg stuff baked onto the bottom of the oven. Its a lot deeper than a quiche pan so remember not to overfill, or it will have to cook longer than a regular quiche.

wouldn't recommend it there is too much possibility of it leaking out the bottom of the pan and then you would have a real mess on your hands..... and not to mention no quiche!.....

No reason why not.

The only thing is that you will end up with a 90 degrees edge instead of the slanted pie dish side.
