It is most definitely okay. The BMI test is, as hard as this is to believe, not very accurate. It does not take into consideration the weight of your muscle, and where the weight is distributed on your body. For example, I carry most of my weight on my thighs and butt; however, my mid section is very thin. So, losing a few pounds even though your BMI says you're healthy, is probably okay, as long as you do it the healthy way.

Since BMI is based on only two parameters, i.e., height and mass; it is of limited value. It does not take into account muscle mass or bone mass. More importantly, it does not take into account whether adiposity, if any, is visceral or subcutaneous.
If a woman looks better in a bikini after losing ten kilograms, then she probably is healthier to have lost the mass. I am not being trite or superficial. I am suggesting a qualitative evaluation of fat distribution.
However, it is important that this qualitative evaluation be reasonable. Many women think that they look great when they are emaciated, others think they look great when they are quite hefty. I guess, if you get a lot of complements after losing the weight, you may be okay. If friends and family ask if you have been sick, then maybe you lost too much weight.

It is fine to lose weight as long as your BMI does not classify you as underweight. If losing 5-10kgs would put you into the underweight BMI category, then do not do it. It's 100% fine to be at the low end of a healthy weight, just don't go underweight, do it in a healthy way (I will refer you to http://calorie-count.com for the best free diet plan around) and don't develop an eating disorder. :]

Yeah, if you are on the upperside of the acceptable bmi, then no reason why you can't, long as not under.
