I found some Crayola Washable paint on clearance at a dollar store... they were 3 for a dollar... anyways... I was wondering if I could use this type of paint on a canvas... if anyone has used it please let me know what type of results u had with it... thanxx in advance for any answers or suggestions...

Washable paint is most likely tempera paint and will not give you the flexibility you need to paint on a canvas (which has some movement). It will flake off. Oil and acrylic is best for a canvas ground as it is flexible when it dries and permanent.

Use your cheap paints to do experimental work on paper, wood board, etc. Just don't expect it to last very long.

Yes, you can use any type of paint you want on canvas. If the paint doesn't seem to be spreading the way you want, like if the grain of the canvas is showing through too much, try thinning it with a little water.

I have used Crayola washable markers but only on paper. Most likely it is meant to be on paper.

You can try to do it; if the paint 'crawls' (beads up) adding a little colorless soap might help. However, these paints are mainly for children and they will probably fade in time.

the paint i find works the best is water colour paint that is the ones that are the hard circles that you add water to. my grandfather is an artist and i love art i know what i am talking about.
