MicroSD Write - protection?

I have received a micro SD card, which i used for my mobile phone, but when i put it into the card reader on my computer, i can't add anything because it is write protected, i was told to switch the lock switch on the side, but this made no difference?

why don't you just buy one they are not that expensive now.

You may need to reformat it since your mobile phone may be using a different file system than your computer.
