I felt pain in my tooth and a little swelling in my left cheek. I went to the dentist and he told me I might have a tooth abscess, that's why my face is swelling. He then done a root canal for me. He said he didn't want to start me on antibotics because he was afraid of people getting immune to too many antibiotics. He prescribed me some anyways, but told me to hold on to it until the swelling get worse. It did got worse, and I started on antibiotics pen V 500mg q6h. Swelling hasn't gone done at all with pain. What should i do? Is it going to get bigger? It hurt so much I cried today.

It's one of my small tooth on the left side. But felt like the muscle/nerve lining with that tooth really hurt along my face. The muscle next to and under my nose on the left side is so tender. Did the root canal help at all?

Root canal is not good for your health specially if you have an infection. In the long run, it may cause other health diseases, such as fatigue, memory loss, toxicity, hormonal problems, etc.... depending on what tooth it is because there is a correlation between the teeth and the acupuncture meridians of the body. Personally, last year, within 15 minutes of pulling an infected tooth, I felt my energy level perk up ( I felt fatigued for 3 years and have been dragging my feet) and realized that my fatigue was due to my infected tooth. There are books out there talking about the dangers of root canal ( I think one of them is called Root Canal Exposed). Sorry I do not remember all the titles and authors, but I think you can google and find them. My recommendation is to pull it out.

Man..I feel for you! I used to get abscessed teeth often, and one of the best remedies is to rinse your mouth with raw organic apple vinegar. Doesn't taste all that great, but it does work, and you can use it as often as you like. Too many dentists are too quick on the root canals (good money, ya kno?) and it takes quite a bit to become immune to antibiotics. Might be worthwhile to get another opinion.
