Have you gone to sleep and woken up somewhere unfamiliar. That's what happens when you pass away from this world. There's no heavenly choirs or angels escorting you to the "Garden of Eden". You exist now. Your body, your mind, your soul, and you will exist again. It may be a billion years from now but what has been will be again. What happens in between our fleeting moments of existence is like a long restful sleep.

It depends whether you are talking of the body or spirit-soul. I suspect spirit-soul therefore the evidence lies in consciousness. Whatever consciousness you have at the time of death- that is what you shall attain. If you are a very pious person- you will attain a godly body in in heavenly regions. If you consciousness is very wicked and disturbed your body will attain a hellish existence possible an animal, human or unworldly misery (fire and brimstone). If you have a an ordinary human consciousness you get another human body. As long as your consciousness is not on the absolute platform whatever you get remains temporary- whatever has a beginning has an end. Since what you actually are has no beginning and end much like the law of conservation of energy- when you understand what you are and your connection to the absolute truth then you will attain what Jesus called the Kingdom of God, also known as Vaikuntha. This place is beyond time and space unlike the heavenly regions, it has no end because it is your real nature to in relation to God, whereas the heavenly regions deal mainly with a higher standard of enjoyment that is temorary. God is not cruel to say that a finite bad deed will cause unending suffering. This ancient philosophy (reincarnation) shows that God give us the material creation to attempt to be Lords or enjoyers of, tempered with the law- As you sow, so shall you reap.

Science tells me that matter can't be totally destroyed. That means that some part of me will continue. I'm not talking about an afterlife, I'm just saying that when my life ends something will come from it. I don't know if people have souls either. There is the question of the 22 grams, but that's not proof.

Well, the coroner takes your remains to the morgue. If you were kind enough in life to donate any parts of your body for people less fortunate than yourself, then the coroner will then remove those parts and get them off to the next person on the waiting list. Your family or someone makes arrangements for a funeral. Your remains are then transferred to the funeral home or somewhere like that. A funeral is held or not. You body is then buried, in tombed or cremated. If you have a family and/or friends they will feel bad for you for an undisclosed time period. Life goes on for the rest of us until one of us kicks off.

Physically- Worm food! Spiritually - I don't believe a single soul, except maybe that one, has been to the "other side" and come back to prove that that the other side even exists. I have to believe that there is more to it than "faith". But don't take my word for it - I'm feeling a little cynical and bitter tonight.

I know I lived before, and I expect to live again after this life (which won't be over for some time, mind you). That is all I need to say.
