Does anyone know of any Pentecostal (preferred) sites where you can request prayer, maybe get a penpal, and answers to questions. I have a lot of questions...like I love going to our church(pentecostal) ..I feel so good when I'm there..I feel God is there (more so then in other churches I have been to.) I believe in everything.. except for some of the issues on dressing etc. ..like I don't understand why you aren't suposed to wear jewelry..but you can wear giant diamond rings..and big fancy hair accessorries...no make-up..but, you can fry in the tanning bed...I have always felt that God didn't care what you looked like..it is what your heart looks like. I have just had alot of questions..and would like to know if there is any place to go on the net..to ask... and maybe find someone..to write to. Thanks for your help in advance. Have a SUPER day!! ~j~

If you want to feel the power of God without the legalism, try a Word Church, or an on fire Assembly of God.
for example:

also, for excellent free teaching, try:

I'm the Pastor of an online, virtual church, which is Bible believing and non denominational, yet is also considered by some to be full gospel and or pentecostal and or charismatic.

I'm really not all that big on fancy names or denominations.

However I am a Born Again, Holy Spirit filled Pastor who loves Jesus and whenever I can, I prefer to answer questions from the Bible and not from church traditions.

So I'll give you four options:

1. PM me when I'm online.

2. See the link below which has my phone number on it and call me.

3. Let me know via PM or E-mail what your phone number and wnen a good time to call would be. Then I'll call you on my dime. My E-mail address is the owner of the Yahoo group whose link is below:

4. Join the Yahoo called "Talk 2 a Pastor"

What you are speaking of is one of the old main line churches

Pentecostal

Holiness

church of God

Assemblies of God

All of these are denominational church

Most come out and go to

non-denomination churches

They believe the same in teachings but are less strict in dress and ect..

God looks at the heart not if you have on make up or jeans

do a search on the Internet and put in each word with prayer and message boards

like:

Pentecostal prayer message boards

each word you can change to your liking

This will give you many to choose from

Blessings be yours.............

This is just one you may like it

i just wanted to comment on some of the things that you have questions about. first, i have questioned these things too (being pentecostal) in our church we do not wear wedding rings as it is not biblical and it doesn't make any sense. no where in the bible does it say you are not supposed to wear jewelry unless it is a wedding ring. i wonder about fancy watches, and broaches on women's suits. i have also questioned the big fancy hair accessories and actual hair for that matter. i totally get the tanning bed questioned. there are signs posted at the tanning salon that it causes cancer, you have to be 18 to do it how is it different from smoking cigarettes if we don't do that because it harms the temple of God (our bodies). not to mention the vanity factor of it. that being said, please don't let those things keep you from the greatest experience you can have with God. as I understand it those things fall under having personal convictions. you have personal convictions against them and others you see may not. you just stick to your guns and try not to worry about what others are doing or not doing. maybe God gives some of us those convictions and not others to test us and one day we will have to answer to God about them. YOU DO WHAT YOU KNOW IS RIGHT- DON'T WORRY ABOUT WHAT OTHERS ARE DOING AND DON'T MISS OUT ON GOD BECAUSE OF IT.

Answer: If you want to request a prayer, open your mouth. From your lips to God's ears.

Your observations regarding materialism verses spiritualism is very real.

God is spirit. He existed before and created every thing material.

We worship God in spirit and in truth.

It you are looking for rules 1 Cor 10:23-24.

Jesus clearly stated that the wealthy will have a hard time entering the Kingdom of God.

There is more, but the answer is in his book.

I don't think its a Pentecostal on, but you can go to http://www.jesus2u.org or even call1800 jesus 2 u the seem like they could help...I just recently started going to a Pentecostal church myself and feel the same as you do. If you need someone to pray for you, someone to ask questions to do, or someone to just write to, my door is always open feel free to email me. I'll try to answer any questions you may have and if I don't know the answer I will search for it. God Bless!

I go to the Assembly of God.(pentecostal)
But we do not follow the holiness rules.
I knew them growing up.Read the Bible ,you are right.
God looks at the heart. But you should dress modest.
Ask your pastor to point out the rules from the New Testement. If he showes you OLD T. ask if he has a port around his roof.It is in the laws, but no one has one.<><

I go to a "Pentecostal" type of church. We don't worry much about dress, as long as it is appropriate.
I am willing to pray for you.
