Maybe he was all coked up. I'd start by calling the state patrol and filing a complaint. Write everything down in detail as soon as you can. Then find his boss and file a complaint. If this is in a small town with no internal affairs I would call the FBI just to let them know there is a cop showing signs of a violent breakdown and you have filed complaints with the state and his department.

I love when people decide that State Patrol is the end all be all for law enforcement for the state and they somehow have authority over me. The fact is, in this state and in many others, all cops are created equal. The highway patrol may patrol a larger section of the state, but they are not in charge of me, they can not discipline me, nor can they tell me how to do my bad.

As for the incident. I'm sorry, but I have a hard time believing your story. There has to be more to it. What did the cop say? Did you cut him off or something? Were you speeding? Did you do anything illegal? Maybe you just didn't understand the situation. Are you sure he's even a cop?

I'm not calling you a liar, but something seems to be missing here. I'm the investigator for my department/ and I get calls about police being rude all the time. I pull the tape, the officer is polite, calls the person sir/ma'am and sometimes even just gives them a warning.

It's a common thing with the public. Being stopped by the police of very stressful. So them don't take the time to understand the situation or automatically assume the officer is going to be an *** and nothing the officer does will change that perception.

Obviously, you are not telling the whole story. Whatever you are not telling us, let me tell you this- Most officers will either issue you an AC (A.S.S chewing / warning) or a ticket, not both. The ticket would have cost you $, points on your license and an insurance increase. Be glad you got the AC and move on. If your feelings are that easily hurt, join a convent.

You probably did something and didn't even realize it. Like fly by while he was conducting a traffic stop, making his car shake back and forth and having him fear for his life. Or maybe you didn't see the arm out on a school bus because you were chatting away on your cell phone? Maybe after he stopped you, he realized his anger was getting the better of him, so he decided it was in his own best interest to leave.

Just let it go. Obviously he did.

Lucky you.
When I get pulled over, I get a ticket.
I'd rather have your experience. It's cheaper.

uh...what did he say? did he give you a ticket??

now i am curious.

wow that sucks, but cops are people too....maybe he was having a bad night, you did something minor that you probably didn't even notice, and he just decided to take it out on you. i wouldn't worry about it. at least ya didn't get a ticket!
