he didnt really say more or less to me...he said it to my friends who asked...so what does it mean usually?? when guys say it what are you thinking when you say more or less

it means that they feel sort of embarrassed, and were caught off guard
it could also mean that they "wouldn't mind" going out with said person, but that would require said person putting forth effort into it

It means that he likes you more than not. He probaly didn't want to say that he really liked you in front of your friends because he was embarrassed and he might of thought that if he said that he really liked you then your friend might have said something smart and make him look bad by saying, "Well she hates your guts..." So he likes you and was just playing it safe.

He could be putting on a front around your friend so it's pretty hard to get a clear reading on him.
