First of all, I want to clarify your question. Your question statement is already wrong. The Bible DOES talk about a lot of Islam prophets. Take note that Prophet Muhammed (p.b.u.h) was the Last messenger sent by God but NOT the ONLY prophet of Islam.
The old testament of the Bible has a lot in common with the Qur'an. Parts of the Bible is considered sacred by Muslims but not the whole bible. The Qur'an is considered the ONLY holy book that keeps its sacredness away from any corruptions of mankind. Regarding your question, a lot of Islamic prophets were also mentioned in the bible although their names in the Qur'an we're in arabic or their original names. These are just some of the many Islamic/ muslim prophets the Bible speak of:
ENGLISH NAME ===== Names in Qur'an
1. Abraham ======= Ibrahim
2. Isaac ====== Ishaq
3. Ishmael ======= Isma'il
4. Jacob ======= Ya'qub
5. Moses ====== Musa
6. John ======= Yahya
In addition, the Bible never spoke of the religion "Christianity” especially the Old Testament. If you compare it with the Holy Qur’an there are a lot of similarities. However, one of the many MAIN differences the Bible has from the Qur’an is that the Bible had it’s NEW TESTAMENT focused on Jesus and did not tackled further more such as the arrival of Prophet Muhammad to fully establish the religion Islam which started from the very first God made the universe and mankind. Obviously, the Bible could not be truly relied for it underwent a lot of variations and editing. In fact, if you would join Islamic scholars or try to read the Bible a lot of it’s verses would point that Jesus was a mere prophet of God and never placed himself in the position of God, The Powerful and All-Knowing.
P.S. I hope I helped you clarify your thoughts and questions. I pray that like me, you’ll find the right faith and way to God.

There's no doubt that Mohammed incorported Christian principles and teachings into his creation of Islam. They both started in the same region of the world. Despite claims by a lot of Muslims...Christianity and Islam are VERY different... Christians had the New Testament written by the late 1st Century A.D. and the Koran wasn't written until around 900 A.D.
Bottom line: Christianity came first...Islam was almost a millennia behind. Christians believe in the resurrection power. Muslims don't. That's the key difference between the two faiths.

Well, you don't know much about Islam. Then, Is Christianity derived from Judaism and Jews are right?. Don't but stupid arguements like this. We believe that David recieved the Psalms(Zaboor), Moses recieved the Law, Jesus recieved the Gospel and Muhammad s.a.w recived the Qur'an.(peace be upon them all) All were from God. You don't really understand the concept of progressive religion, don't you. Muhammad is foretold both in the old testament and the new one. We believe that we have the final revelation of God with us. Muhammad didn't bring a new religion but was the restorer of the true message of God Almighty. And Muhammad was the final messenger of God.

HELLO!!!! Islam was founded by the teachings of Mohammed who existed around 200-300years after the death of Christ. The great schism between the two religions is that Mohammed claimed that Jesus was a prophet only not the son of God. He also claimed that there was no such thing as the holy trinity: ie Father,Son,Holy Spirit. In Islam there is only the one true God.
This was the fundemental difference between the two. Doctrines written after that is when the rift grew larger.

havent you heard of evolution and improvement? i mean we are all for technological advancements and replacing older and more flawed scientific theories with newer and more accurate ones. SO why not for religion? Islam came to perfect the earlier religions and came to rectify the mistakes made by the followers of the earlier religions-hence the warning of not setting up sons or daughters for God, of not comitting idolatory by setting up partners with God. Of not elevating humans to divine positions, of leaving off the injustice of usury and interest and alcohol and gambling. And the perfect religion has to have the perfect book-hence the Quran-flawless for 1400 years without change or alteration (unlike the bible which has about 73 versions and the original in its original language hasn;t survived)-if you ask a quran memoriser in Canada to recite a verse from the Quran it will be the same recitation as that of a 80 year old in Indonesia or of a 20 year old memoriser in Morocco or India. Unchanged, unadulterated for 1400 years.
So claim what you may-the perfection of religion came with Islam-hence it was the final religion revealed to mankind and it came with the best of men and the last of the prophets.

of course Kuran comes after Bible. Islam is the name of religion based on unspoiled revelation. Kuran does not disapprove main ideas of the bible. But only difference the Kuran has been collected and scripted as revealed. the compilation of Bible is much later on and with the interpretation of the interpreters.
PLEASE, this question is very old and provocative one. ONLY read Kuran and compare it to the essence of the Bible. The essence of the Books are the same. Believe in God, believe in attributes of God, Believe in the prophets of God without making any difference amongst them.
PEACE!

It's true that Christianity came before Islam but Islam came after to correct the corruption of Christianity just like when Christianity came to correct the Jews. If Christianity remained the true religion God would not have sent Islam, what was it needed for? BTW both the Bible and the Old testament mention the prophet Mohammed (PBUH)
"Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) mentioned by name in the old testament:
Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) is mentioned by name in the Song of Solomon chapter 5 verse 16:
"Hikko Mamittakim we kullo Muhammadim Zehdoodeh wa Zehraee Bayna Jerusalem."
"His mouth is most sweet: yea, he is altogether lovely. This is my beloved, and this is my friend, O daughters
of Jerusalem."
In the Hebrew language im is added for respect. Similarely im is added after the name of Prophet Muhammad
(pbuh) to make it Muhammadim. In English translation they have even translated the name of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) as "altogether lovely", but in the Old Testament in Hebrew, the name of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) is yet present."

Well the New Testament refers an awful lot to the Jews. So perhaps, under your theory, Christianity is "derivated" from Judaism, the much older religion. Ergo, Judaism is the "true/original religion to believe."

so i will teach you!
yes,the Quran teaches us muslims about Moses and Jesus peace be upon them.And Muhummud was in the Bible.
The Quran was the last book sent down for all mankind
It was Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) who was the Paraclete, Comforter, helper, admonisher sent by God after Jesus. He testified of Jesus, taught new things which could not be borne at Jesus' time, he spoke what he heard (revelation), he dwells with the believers (through his well-preserved teachings). Such teachings will remain forever because he was the last messenger of God, the only Universal Messenger to unite the whole of humanity under God and on the path of PRESERVED truth. He told of many things to come which "came to pass" in the minutest detail meeting, the criterion given by Moses to distinguish between the true prophet and the false prophets (Deuteronomy 18:22). He did reprove the world of sin, of righteousness and of judgement (John 16:8-11)

outstanding answer Farazi. i ask your self why Jesus reported Eli Eli lama sabachthani? Mark 15: 34 at the same time as the christians those days telling that he's willingly had to be crucified to shop the mankind. He would not sound like he needs that. Gospel of John financial disaster 16 verse 7: "even with the reality that I allow you to comprehend the reality; it truly is expedient for you that i bypass away: for if i bypass no longer away, the Comforter received't come unto you; yet when I leave, i visit deliver him unto you". yet at the same time as he says that now I comprehend the magnitude of his departure so as that Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) can come and finished the preparation. they have were given the privilege of having Prophet between them and they keeps on killing them. replaced into that some form of activity for the time of that factor. How I favor i must be interior the time in the course of the prophet Jesus 2d coming to shop the international.
