After the Last Judgment, who are you going to be ruling over if everyone’s been slaughtered and sent to either heaven or hell? What's the point of ruling Earth?

I can't? Ha! Then why is John 3:16 used by Christians so many times? What about biblical inerrancy?

It won't be ruling from a perspective of power but of servanthood, just like Jesus said that whoever would be greatest among us would be the servant of all. We will be serving, not being served. Take a look at Mark 9:33-37 at the first link below.

In Revelation, God tells us that only 144,000 people will be bought from the earth to rule with Jesus as kings and priests over those here on earth. What a blessing that will be; being governed by individuals who had experienced imperfection as we have, who overcame some of the same trials and obstacles that we are dealing with presently! Of course, only those who are true worshipers of God, through His Son, will be among those 144,000 and those here on earth. Any who do not want to be part of God's Kingdom, will have been destroyed during God's war at Armageddon, which is soon to come. We are living in a very exciting time, in which we are seeing Bible prophesy fulfilled on an almost daily basis!

After the Final Judgement, we won't really be ruling over the Earth. Heaven will be brought to Earth and we (christians) will live eternally in the praises of our Lord. read Revelations in the Bible to find out more and get clarity. There are many sites that have the bible online.

You said "if everyone's sent to heaven or hell". Actually, Jesus will reign on earth for 1,000 years and the righteous will reign with Him there. So Nobody will be in heaven. The dead will be resurrected and they will reign as well. (See Rev 20:1-6) As for the question "Who will we reign over?" It doesn't have to be bossing around other people, it just means we will all be rulers of all the earth along with Christ. The earth will belong to us. No more evil rulers like Hitler or Stalin or Saddam Hussein. The meek will inherit the earth. This will be the fulfilling of that promise.

I don't know anyone who is Christian that is thinking about ruling in New Jerusalem. I even don't think about ruling there. And I'm perhaps the only Christian that I know that thinks about ruling on Earth after the Second Coming, a sort of sub-king under Jesus.

"...and you made them to be a kingdom and priests to our God, and they are to rule as kings over the earth." --Rev 5:10

"He has founded the earth upon its established places; It will not be made to totter to time indefinite, or forever." --Psalm 104:5

"So my word that goes forth from my mouth will prove to be. It will not return to me without results, but it will certainly do that in which I have delighted, and it will have certain success in that for which I have sent it,' is the utterance of Jehovah." --Isaiah 55:11 (+ excerpt from vs 8)

As in men's governments throughout history, there is a ruling class, and a class over which they rule. The Kingdom Governmental class rules from heaven, while the great majority of mankind remain on earth --as its subjects-- to fulfill God's original purpose for both the earth & mankind...

What Is the Kingdom of God? :
- Where is it located?
- Who is its King?
- Do others share in ruling with the King? If so, how many?
- What shows that we are living in the last days?
- What will God's Kingdom do for mankind in the future?

The Hereafter--Where Will It Be? :
- Earth--Just a Testing Ground?
- Eternal Happiness--In Heaven or on Earth?

So... The point of ruling earth is to bring glory to Jehovah God, by bringing both the earth --& mankind upon it-- back to perfection... A true glorification to look forward to being a part of!

I don't rule over any one or anything. You can't take one verse from the Bible much less a book as difficult as Revelations and expect a complete and accurate answer.

Who said anyything about ruling Earth? And no one will be slaughtered. You will have to do something veryyyy bad to go to hell and burn. O yeah and after the judgement everything will be perfect. No sickness, pain or any form of suffering.
