but I posted this in the YA section and couldn't get a straight answer so I'm counting on my R & S friends.

How does one become a 'Top Contributor' on YA?

Answer only in one category. You can not be a top contributor unless you specialize.

You may not want to specialize. There are a lot of questions in other categories I cannot resist answering.

You have to answer I think it's at least 50 questions in one particular section within a month and also get at least 10% best answers from the answers you've submitted in that section.

Answering a lot of questions well, I believe. Being knowledgable in the field in which you answer a lot of questions grants you status as a top contributer.

That is not at all clear. If Yahoo has published their decision algorithm, I have not seen it. Presumably it involves the number of Answers; one would hope that some quality metric such as the number of Best Answers is also applied.

top contributors answer a certain number of questions in a certain topic, it doesn't necessarily mean you are an expert on everything- just that you have answered a lot of questions in a given topic.

Open multiple accounts, congratulate yourself on your brilliant questions and reward yourself with many points,
thus winning the prestige and esteem you so desperately seek.
That and a dollar will get you a small cup of bad coffee.

stop eating, sleeping, going to your job, and just sit at the PC 24/7, and try to post middle of the road answers to everything (whether you actually ANSWER the question or not) so you don't step on some whiner's toes

You have to answer a whole lot of questions and get a whole lot of points..there is a chart on your profile page

By answering question in the catagories. If you pick say the R/S catagory then answer all the questions you can
