If you stop eating for a month, you wouldn't have much of anything left. You can live without food for a while, but you cannot live without water. Weight loss would depend on how much you weigh and for how many days you decide to fast. Unfortunately, it would be a dangerous experiment - besides losing fat, your would also lose muscle mass, subject yourself to osteoporosis, you would become very weak. Your internal organs - in particular your kidneys - might start to malfunction, your ability to think would be diminished as the brain uses carbohydrates for fuel - a host of very not good things. I hope that if weight loss is your goal, you do it in a healthy way by incorporating exercise with a sensible eating plan. It's better to be healthy with a couple of extra pounds than be too thin and unhealthy.

All of the answers above are very correct. In addition to their answers, an analysis of how things done inside your stomach and why a body really needs food.
Food intake (mouth) >> esophagus >> stomach >> small intestine >> a. intestinal wall b. large intestine
Your stomach naturally grinds every second. In order to help the stomach to grind food, your stomach lining naturally releases acid. If there is no food to grind you will suffer from stomache.
Small Intestine is one of the MOST IMPORTANT organ in your body. In the small intestine, it continues to digest the food intake until it became nutrients which are directly sent to intestinal wall to FEED THE RED BLOOD CELLS and to SENT ALL NUTRIENTS TO DIFFERENT PARTS OF THE BODY. If no food intake, you will suffer from cell damage, internal hemorrhage, lost of different senses in the body, brain malfunction, acute gastroenteritis, ulcer, other intestinal problem and even death.
Remember that your body NEEDS food. If you are very very very conscious about losing weight, it is recommendable that you should see a doctor first.
REMEMBER THAT NOT ALL FOOD HAS HIGH FAT CONTENTS! Eat fiber rich foods. Proper Balanced Diet (Balance food intake (GO foods, GROW foods, GLOW foods)). I heard from a speaker once that you should eat plenty in the morning (breakfast), moderate in the noon (lunch), less in the evening (dinner). I don't know what other experts can say but this is what I learned.
Going back to your question, if you stop eating for a month how much do you lose?
Answer: It depends on the size, age (height) and status of the person. Stop eating for a month means losing not only fats but all nutrients in the body. You are not a DOCTOR, you should not experiment yourself.
PS: Do not take fats a burden in life. Fats may have greater disadvantages but if body has no fats, you will always stay in bed or become mute because you have no energy to walk or say anything.

In theory, you could survive, but it would be incredibly dangerous. But PLEASE listen to me, it's not a way to lose weight. You'll actually gain more when you start eating again, because your body try to store it as fat to try save your life. Also, be wary of "yoyo" diets. It's a way to lose weight fast, but it's always gained back, and usually then some.. even if you only fast a couple of days, your body thinks that you're going to continue, and stores it for emergency.
I know it sounds corny, but the best thing you can do for yourself is eat healthy. Breakfast is important, because it gets your metabolism going first thing in the morning. Eat every 4/5 hours, and drink lots of water. Exercise. Go for walks with friends, go walk around the mall (my favorite). It will suck for a while, but you'll feel better than you would starving to death. Good luck.
If you feel like that's not going to be enough, you need to get help.

How about fasting for a month? That's more sensible.
The Muslims do it once a year for 30 days continuously, eat and drink before sunrise and eat and drink again after sunset. This has a way of detoxing the system, you tend to eat less also and yet will not die. Effect is you will definitely lose weight, in a healthy way.

You'll probably lose a lot, possibly your life.Starvation is the WORST diet there is.You are depriving your body of a LOT,and that deteriorates your body.Everything from muscle tissue to brain function. And then when you finally ingest something, your body is gonna latch onto it like no tomorrow.Even the fat, which will make you regain weight, because your body hasn't had anything for so long it's just gonna keep anything it can get. Please think twice before doing this to yourself. There are so many better ways to lose weight.Good luck!

A liquid diet may not provide the needed nutrients to maintain adequate energy levels in most individuals. Short-term weight loss can be achieved, but when liquids such as protein shakes are eventually eliminated from the diet, pounds tend to be regained. Those who embark on a juice fast—also categorized as a form of liquid dieting—may find it less than satisfactory.

Don't do it! Your metabolism will slow down, you'll get sick, and you'll have more problems than you even want to think about.
Check with your doctor, or get on line and check out some sensible weight loss programs. You might need to consider one that has some kind of accountability factor. Such as a Weight Watchers meeting, or some other group.
Best wishes to you.

After a time your body goes in to famine mode, and your energy level will decrease to the point you will not want to get out of bed. The weight loss would be about 20 lbs, but you could take years off your life. There is no easy way to drop weight fast. Start a gym. If you burn 3000 calories each day, and have three small meals, it will melt off. Otherwise you are going to hurt yourself.

I think your body would go into starvation mode. Then, your metabolism would slow down to compensate. When you couldn't take it anymore, and trust me, you wouldn't make it a whole month without food, you would eat normally and start gaining weight rapidly. Your body will think it's starving and try to hold onto every calorie. In the end, you would have no energy, be unable to concentrate, and have lost nothing.
