I did. Mayweather won by split decision in a fight I thought he clearly won. Most of the rounds, he would hit De La Hoya with about 20 clean shots, and then weather the storm of a De La Hoya flurry where most punches wouldn't connect. For some inexpicable reason, De La Hoya abandoned his left jab in the later rounds which was giving Mayweather problems earlier. My three questions are, do you agree with me that: 1. the Judge who scored it 115-113 for De La Hoya is out of his mind. 2. it wasn't really a great fight, because neither fighter was really in trouble at any time, and there certainly never looked like there might be a KO. 3. Most if not all of the Mayweather pre-fight trash talk was to boost PPV sales, and had nothing to do with any personal animosity towards De La Hoya.

1. i don't think he was out of his mind at all, i could definitely see how someone would score the fight for oscar

2. if you truly appreciate what the sweet science is about, you should appreciate this fight...it was very close and both fighters executed their game plans very well

3. i agree somewhat because that's the reason floyd trash-talks every single fight, but this time i think there was just a little dislike for oscar

Will it be more entertaining? Maybe. That all depends on who is viewing the event. I personally dislike UFC or any other MMA. The majority of the time they go the the ground and roll around. Two men rolling around and mounting each other isn't very appealing to me, Im sorry. More accumaltive damage is done in Boxing. In UFC, you either get into a position that hurts like hell and you have to tap out, or you just get tagged once and go down, in which case the fights are almost immediatley halted. In Boxing, and decent scrap with cause both fighters to endure large amounts of damage over a long period of time. No you didn't see to much damage in the De La Hoya vs. Mayweather fight, due to the stylistic match up at play. I don't think MMA and Boxing are even in the same genre so to speak myself. They attract far different people. MMA has some skilled fighters, however I would favor any good boxer to knock any of those UFC fighters out. Just look how well Butterbean is doing, and he is garbage in Boxing!

If De La Hoya threw more jabs and left hooks he would have closed mayweathers eye which would give floyd trouble seeing the shots. But freddie roach told him to go for the body more. That was the game plan and it didn't slow floyd's accurate punching.

I thought it was an evenly matched fight and didn't see Mayweather as a clear victor. And of course the trash talk is to boost PPV sales, it's just part of their job. But yeah, I wish that there would have been some exciting moments where one of them got clocked and had to recover...but it was still entertaining regardless.

I'm a old boxing fan for many decades, the fight tonight was about a 4 on the snooze scale. Once upon a time in boxing, you had to soundly beat the champion to get his belt. Floyd didn't prove jack, and Oscar is old and needs to retire.
