Isn't this mission accomplished?

Why can't Bush declare victory and withdraw?

Unless he really was after the oil all along, as many people said, and he'll have to leave that behind.
It looks suspiciously like that is indeed the case.
There is no other excuse for staying that I can see.

I agree with you.
As far as Bush is concerned, I believe he should be removed from office before he leaves office...and I voted for him(!)... on his first tour of "soft duty", but not the second.

There is lot's of money in war. From weapon production to rebuilding contracts, there is money to be made. Once the war machine is started it's very hard to stop. There is allot of very rich businessmen getting even richer. In order to sell a military Humvee another has to blow up right. Also Iraq is a geopolitical state that's right next to Iran. As soon as we got there we built permanent military bases because we're not planing on going home. I'm assuming we'll provide air support to Israel while they invade Iran. Israel has been training for this for a very long time. Middle east is the only region we do not have economical control over and they want it bad.

Reason #1
To protect the oil and also help the big businesses that moved in to make their profits.
Reason #2
To set up bases there and protect Israel and our future advancements in the middle east.
Reason #3
To keep the "threat of terrorism" alive in the households of America by continuing to propagate using the media to show us car bombings over and over to make us think "this could happen here these guys are crazy!"
