There are two thing you can do. The first and most successful to gaining a six pack in the pool is grabbing a kick board and just kick dolphin style back and forth, back and forth. This stimulates ab contraction almost 3x as much as crunches due to the pressure of the water and movement of the muscles acting on the water. Another good technique is stretching your stroke. Your abs stretch both ways so if you really stretch your arms during your front crawl you will feel the pull and then contraction. Try these and you'll see yourself not only get leaner but develop that six pack into an eight pack. Take care of yourself.

Try to get a Aqua Jogging floatation belt, then try vertical sit ups, bring left leg across to right arm and then opposite, right leg across to left arm. Keep upright in the pool, rigid no movement from the lower back.

I swam every day before my first baby, and it helped me get back in shape really fast - my belly was flat by 4 weeks, and he weighed over 9 pounds!
Do laps, with and without kickboard. Crawl, sidestroke, backstroke - anything you can feel in your belly and sides.
