Fort Jackson boot camp is a joke... if your going there you have nothing to worry about. To be honest I think boot camp is different at different places .... for example.. Fort Sill and Fort Benning serve combat arms troops so the basic is tougher... Fort Jackson serves the REMF's ... so of course it is easier.

I went in 2000, it wasn't bad. It's designed so people can get through it. We had some new pt program where we did minimal running. Only twice did we do longer than 2 miles, other than the pt tests, otherwise we ran sprints and agility drills. It can get hot or really cold too depending on what time of year you go. Good Luck, it's not like the movies!

It wasn't hard in 2002, and I've read that it's gotten easier since then.
