I've only known of two young people who died young like this. One had juvenile diabetes that caused kidney failure. The other one had a brain aneurysm--a blood vessel broke and hemorrhaged in her brain. The major cause of death of people 15 to 25 is traffic accidents, especially when alcohol is involved. Suicide and drug overdoses runs a close second. Luckily, most of these are preventable. Cell phones and driving are a bad idea too.

I knew a few people who died in their teens. 2 car accidents and a suicide. One of the car accidents was my cousin. I have a co-worker that lost a niece to Hodgkin's disease. The only thing you can do is make sure your friends don't drink and drive, get caught up in hardcore drugs, or do something incredibly stupid. Unfortunately, Death is a part of life and we will have to deal with it no matter what we do. I think it's just a part of life.

prevented? well that's the advice you've heard a million times.. eat good (no junk food, no fast food, no friend food) and exercise.

But the truth is, if you have a problem, there's no preventing it. You cna fall over from a stroke or heart attack AT ANY AGE. I had a fellow high school classmate die in their late 20s because of heart condition.

Had five teenagers who played football most of their lives drop dead while playing football! Seems they all had some problem with their hearts which was undiagnosed. Likewise not one football ground had a resuscitation machine, therefore they are now being installed and all teen football players are being screened.

of course, young people die all the time. not from alzheimers, but anything can happen. young people are dying from anorexia/bulimia, cancer, etc. just take care of yourself, but cancer can strike at any time...

i knew a girl who died from anorexia. she was trying to get better, but her system just shut down. very sad. it's not a way to diet, it's a way to die.
