First I'm going to give you my short definitions followed by websites where you can find more detailed info.

1. Eating disorder- both a debilitating mental illness and an unhealthy relationship with food (hating or over-loving food), causing unhealthy eating habits, usually arising from poor self image (i.e. I'm too fat! I'm horrified of gaining a single pound! I ate too much, and feel guilty, so I'll just throw it up! I'm not worth anything, so I might as well eat everything in the house!) usually resulting in an even WORSE self image, and MUCH worse health.

Mayo Clinic Website- definition of eating disorders.

2. Anorexia Nervosa- Eating disorder in which a person sees themselves as "unhealthy" or "fat" (99.99999% of the time, they REALLY ARENT) and beome obsessed with fixing it. They'll starve themselves, pretend that they're eating more than they really are (to keep parents from freaking out) and exercise like MAD to keep from becoming this monster they think they either are or will become due to food.
It really goes much deeper than the dieting, so read through the link I'm about to post.
Most Anorexics are extremely skinny, although you can have anorexic behaivior and not lose much weight. It can lead to DEATH as well as MANY other medical problems.

3. Bulimia nervosa- typically defined as periods of bing-eating (eating massive amounts of food. which is an eating disorder in itself) and purging (throwing it back up to keep from absorbing it into the body).
I, personally, have expereinced what bulimia can do. You become this self-loathing thing. I didn't even consider myself a person. The only thing I could really come near controlling was what came in (and out) of my stomach. It sucks you into this bottomless pit, and if there's no one to reach for you, you'll just keep falling.
People with bulimia typically aren't THAT skinny.

Read through it.

Here's another good site, great for explaining it to kids.

Good luck at school!

Those thin women could also be anorexic & believe me, that is no longer cool or healthful. You can die from being anorexic. If you believe you need to be just about an anorexic state to slot in, then you are within the mistaken crowd. Anorexic People - Most Runway Models.
Famous example for a person with Bulimia - Princess Diana. Basically Bulimic people deal with their emotions via eating and getting that food out of their system almost immediately.

Anorexia could cause death. Not just weight loss and weakness. See the first link in my sources.

Anorexic - You barely eat any food. You would eat an average of one carrot for breakfast, lunch and dinner. You pretty much starve yourself.

Bulemia - You eat and eat and eat until you are full, and then you go make yourself throw up. It's called binging (eating a lot) and purging (throwing up).

Anorexic - The main damage is weight loss and weakness.

Bulemia - The main one here is that you will lose a ton of enamel off of your teeth from all of the vomit.

Hope this helps! Good luck! :)

anorexic people usually have some kind of mental health issues, that are triggered at one point in their life, usually a way of coping with stress. there is debate over whether or not it is genetics, because it tends to run in families. anorexics eat very small amounts of food, or none becasue they have an awful body image. They also use this as a control factor, if they feel they have no control over thier life or a situation.
Anorexics also tend to be perfectionists, and have to high of expectations for themselves and others. The difference between anorexia and bulimia is, anorexics avoid eating altogether, and bulimics eat a lot (binge) and then barf it up(purge). People tend to have a mix of the two

Anorexia simply means lack of appetite. Anorexia nervosa, which is the eating disorder, causes the individual to consistantly see themselves as fat. It's usally a battle for control on some level. They won't eat for long periods of time and will exercise heavily to burn what calories they do consume.

anorexia leads to extreme malnutrition, electrolyte inbalances and can result in events like heart attacks. Not to mention to psychological and emotional impact of constantly seeing your body as hideous.

Anorexics deny themselves food. Bulemics purge their food through vomiting or abusre of laxitives.

Look it up on google.

You will get much better answers.

But here's mine.

They eat very little (damages the health because your not eating and getting the vitamins and proteins and stuff that you need).

And bulimic people eat but puke up their food after.
