In NYC, there are accents within the accents. Meaning someone from the Bronx speaks slightly differently than someone from Brooklyn. And there is also a Queens accent. Once you have been living in NYC for a long time, you could tell what borough a person is from simply by the accent.

Tell you what, most people you meet in NYC these days are from out of town. Native New Yawkers, we're a rare bunch these days.
