That happens to us too, kind of. Our son's name is Michael (spelled the traditional way). My husband's aunt has a son with the same name, but spelled Mikeal, and so every single card that we get from her has the way she's spelled her son's name. It's annoying, but only for about a half a second. It certainly doesn't bother me enough to ever bring it up to her.

I think it is a cute nickname! When your little one that you are carrying currently gets old enough to speak it will be really easy for them to say Si-Si, if it truly bothers you. You can do what I do...when I send out Christmas cards or emails from the family I always put the correct spelling in the card. This way they get the hint..however people sometimes are clueless...if your family is anything like my family they will somehow come up with their own spelling that doesn't even make sense. So I just make a small joke about their spelling....if you want to be rude send them a card with their name spelled wrong..they won't like that much either...but I don't suggest this. Some people just don't realize they are spelling something wrong, especially with all the spellings of names lately.
Good luck with your pregnancy!! Do you know what you are having?

This is a definitely pick your battles issue. My dad's side of the family still can't get the idea, all these years later, that my daughter from my first marriage does not have the same last name as me anymore.
It may bother you, but it's something to ignore. Like someone else said, cal her Sienna in their hearing, put her name on everything that way, and maybe they'll get the hint. Or maybe not. Bigger things to fight for and about later on - seriously.

Nest time you write a thank you card sign your daughters name then do "Si-Si" so they know how you would prefer it to be spelled. I have two cousins named Nichole / Nicole so i have to ask my mom almost every time which on is spelled which way.

sometimes family members give you nicknames that does not relate to your name it may relate to your personality or some reason a child cant pronounce a name and it sounds cute so people call them that. my friend name is whitley but when she was little she said her name is whiggy pronounced wiggy. so thats her nickname since 4. if it bothers you that much let them know, its your child but i think you are maybe a little emotional because of the pregnancy.

thats the deal wtih nicknames. i get letters, checks, emails to suzy (its susie) or suzie and it bugs me, but i'm not going to flip out about it. my daugther is oceana and we sometimes call her oshee. we've had cards and emails that spell is oci, oce, oshi, oshie, oshee.... i give up! i mean, i spell it oshee, just because that's how it sounds, but technically it shoudl be oce..... let it go - its a term of endearment - they love her and they're including her in their family rituals. you don't have to call her sisi or cici or cee cee. congrats on the new baby too!

I think it would irritate me, but it seems like one of those things you just have to let go. They are including her in a family "custom" and if you ask them to stop, they'll probably resent it. In my opinion, you should just try to learn to love it and move on.
(Congrats by the way!)

You are the one who chose the name, and nickname, and are left with the consequences. You can't blame other people who get it wrong.

Ema or Emmy is cool or even Em (like Auntie Em...okay maybe not Em). Speaking of aunts, my aunt's name is Geneva and we call her Gigi.
