I have a cat, It is a very nice cat, but sometimes takes friends home. Lately one of his "friends" has been staying around and not leaving. It sneaks into our garage and eats all my other cats food, it sleeps under our porch and wont go away!
My cant doesnt seem to mind it. I know it sounds silly but I think he is encouraging it!
Some of the people I live with have tried intimidating it into leaving, but it wont leave. We have tried jumping at it, hissing at it, spraying water at it, and who knows what else. It isnt scared of us at all.
The person I live with is threatening to kick it, but i have forbidden them to. I dont want them to harm the cat, but i am worried that they will because they have a history of cat cruelty. They are now asking what alse they should do. I have no clue what to do, so i'm turning to you guys. I Need your help!

basically,

if its a cat that doesn't belong to someone you should call a humane officer and see if they can trap it with a humane trap.

they will be able to take it back to the humane society or even find a no kill shelter and check its suitability for adoption after temperment testing.

If its a no kill shelter they can work on any behavioral problems before adoptions.

If you have a room mate that is abusive to animals... I'd think about moving once the lease is up, or talk to the land lord about a legal eviction due to eronous and dangerous acts out of worry for your pet. (Assuming that this is a roommate and not a relationship situation.)

you need to also take extra measures to make sure your cate doesn't roam to bring home friends.

is your cat fixed?
Is your cat litterbox trained? Have you tried making him/her an indoor cat only?

you need to try and control the roaming to keep him from bringing home new buddies.

you'll have to consider the area you live in to. If you have an appartment, maybe you want to consider finding another place with less strays when your lease is up.

just look into all options.

Either adopt the cat or call a local cat rescue-they will take care of the cat and try to reunite it with it's owners-This really isn't that difficult but so far you are all abusing it -call the shelter for a cat rescue number and it will be gone that day-they don't want it abused-

Do you know who the other cat belongs to? If so, tell the owner about the kitty problem. If the owner is responsible, they will keep their cat inside.

As for Roomie, perhaps someone should ask him how he would like getting kicked!

Let me get this straight--A) you have cats---B)you have a roommate who has a history of cat abuse---C)why are you living with this person? Don't you know that anyone who is capable of abusing an animal is capable of abusing people?

Report your roommates for animal abuse? Good luck to the stray and your cat.
