As Christians we are considered Saints, according to the Bible.
Doesn't mean we are perfect yet. Just that we are set apart for the purposes of Almighty God.

Yes.

However, we are admonished to stop sinning upon becoming a saint. The only way to do that is to keep in constant touch with the Lord.

Saint. Saint means "sanctified" or "set aside". No more, no less. Not "better" - just set-aside for a purpose.

Why would I shot for utter perfection in the eyes of Christians, or utter failure for that matter?

I am who G-d made me to be.

There is always room for improvement - but I strive to do what is right.
