Is it wrong to listen to R&B music or any other music that's not Christian or Gospel of you're a child of God? I was reading Romans 12:2 (And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.). So, I'm wondering if it's wrong to listen to that kind of music, or even go to an R&B concert.

It is a good thing to see that you are into reading the word so keep on going and get deeper. As far listening to music it's your choice because even if you listen to gospel music only, it can't save you only the grace and mercy of our Lord and Savior Yeshua (Christ's actual spoken name or Elohim as he would have been addressed by his disciples).

Really, I think lyrical content is more an issue than style.
There's no reason you shouldn't listen to what moves you. Let's be honest: How much can you listen to music about how great Jesus and Heaven is (Even if you know it's true) before you just wanna hear something else for a bit.
If the lyrics don't offend you, than any music is fine.

Just remember whatever goes into the body is going to come out in one form or another. I've been saved for about 3 years now and I can't listen to the same stuff I use to. Not b/c some preacher or religion tells me I cant, I just don't have a desire for the things that they talk about anymore. Ask yourself this question, "Is this bringing me closer to God or something else?"

It all depends on what is written in the words in the song. The Holy Bible says in 1 Corinthians 15:33 "Do not be deceived:Evil company corupts good habits. You decide after that young man and may God bless you Amen...

It is not wrong to listen to that genre. Just don't listen to the songs with bad language, etc. There are plenty of Christian R&B songs. God gave us the ability to make music, I believe he wants us to use it to praise Him. Even if it is rap, R&B, country, etc. Klove is a good radio station that plays rap Christian, R&B Christian, rock Christian, etc.

Music comes from God. How could listening to be it wrong. I don't think conforming to the world relates to music. Music touches the spirit, heals, guides and soothes. I don't think it's wrong. And, in any event, who wants to conform to today's world?

No it's o.k. While growing up I was an avid Chrstian and I still listened to Kiss and AC/DC and Metallica and Queen.........oh and even ABBA. If you like it then you should appreciate what you are into, don't let someone make you feel guilty just because they don't like the music or words

For me what is the point of doing anything that doesn't inspire me closer to God. If that is ones intention and desire then they will only be interested in music that is spiritually inspired. Some mundane music can be transformed mentally into spiritual music by the way we perceive it to be. I like a lot of mundane love songs because I like to sing them to God.(Krishna,Allah, Jehovah, Vishnu, Rama, etc.) It is all a matter of Consciousness. Peace Your God is my God. One God with many Names

If the focus and content is of sin then yes. Music styles and types aren't wrong. But their content can be evil. Listen to what you're feeding your mind. They say, "What goes in comes out." "You are what you eat." Be careful.
