I am a Mexican. I live in Mexico and I'm very concerned about what many mexican -and non-mexican- illegal immigrants are doing in the States nowadays. I've been in the US and I know exactly why many migrants would be lured to go live there, even if they do it the wrong way.

One thing I don't understand of all these illegal immigrants right now is why all these people never tried to change things around in their own native countries. Why do they have to wait until the time they smuggle themselves illegally into another country and then try to change the way this particular country is. As I said before, I've been in the States and I know exactly how wrong most -I don't want to generalize- of these illegal immigrants behave. They usually end up trying to break the law just because they want to continue doing things the way they used to do it in their native countries even when those things are wrong in the States. That's not good. I mean, whenever you're invited into somebody's house you never try to change the rules there! ...And in this case, illegal immigrants are not considered as being "invited" or officially welcomed into the US. Is like if someone traspasses my property without even asking me for permission to get in and then all of a sudden they all start eating my food, enjoying the benefits of my hard work and discipline and then on the top of that, they even want to change the rules of my own house!!! That's ridiculous! ...I just don't think that's fare.

Anyway, bottom line is, you're not a traitor. If I were in your shoes I think I would stand agains all these illegal immigrants as well.

Don't get me wrong, though. I'm not against people migrating into another country LEGALLY. I'm against ILLEGAL immigration.
PEACE

Some people are quick to call anyone traitor that they feel should be following their agenda and sharing the same beliefs they. I have been called traitor a lot of times myself becasue some ignorant people feel i should be against illegal immigration because they assume i'm white (guess the dyed red hair and green eyes throws them off). Yet i'm mexican. Everyone is entitled to stand behind whatever they believe in and not just follow the rest, regardless of nationality.

If you mean traitor instead of trader, I would assume it would be because the people who think you are a traitor did not bother to come here legally, and deem you a threat because you do not share their cavalier attitude regarding the border. I commend you and your fine parents for taking the right path to citizenship. By the way, you are not alone. I have many hispanic friends who detest illegals of any race.

Don't listen to what the other Hispanics say to you. There's absolutely nothing wrong with that. I'm proud of your parents for actually trying and not just taking the short cut. I don't have a problem with legal immigrants that assimilate and all that, but the illegals really make me mad.

Honey, You are an American by birth! NOT a trader to a group of people who refuse to just do it the LEGAL way.

You are viewed in this manner by those who choose not to see or understand the standards that have been put in place for the process (at least the way that they HAVE been) !!
To those who have come here and joined the American family by way of the lawful and proper means --You truly ARE our family and fellow countrymen --- the invasion that is underway at present though -- is of another nature entirely -- and out of a sense of "draw down" FROM the nation as opposed to anything they are bring to add TO the nation !! And, as such, they are taking from YOU as well with these actions -- so -- To ask that you support such actions is being unrealistic on any terms that it is viewed !!

you can´t be a trader because you are not trading anything... you can be call a traitor for betraying your background. The term mexican american is very peculiar and started obviously by mexicans just to feel a little bit more american but still they are mexicans and have a little or none of our culture in them so i keep on wondering why they call themselves americans.

You are not a traitor. There are many that have the same position as you, so do not worry about it. It only means that you are a true American!!!

You are not a traitor...it's just a hot topic right now, and because you are hispanic--hispanics automatically believe you should stand up for them. But that's like asking black people to embrace gang members simply because of their race. I think it's great that you are against illegals...it shows that you are a true citizen and that you believe in what citizenship means. So...blow the morons off. I'm personally tired of this unwritten rule that says you turn your head because it is your race. Your parents did it, so can they.
