There is no god, thus there is no 'intelligent design'.

Any religion that prescribes belief in "intelligent design" is beneath contempt.

What Jacob W writes is also beneath contempt. It is garbage spewed out by the lunatic religious right of the USA and correctly regarded as drivel in the rest of the world.

These so called "pastors" often have dubious theological qualifications and where they claim scientific qualifications, their almas mater are frequently even more dubious. It has been demonstrated time and again over the past 25 to 30 years that some prominent creationists and proponents of "intelligent design" have lied repeatedly about their qualifications and have lied repeatedly about the evidence for "intelligent design".

Did I mention Carl Baugh, Ken Ham or Duane Gish in such a connection? No.

I am an atheist. I stand with my own two feet on intelligent design.

Seriously, I don't think intelligent design is very intelligent at all. It is not a testable hypothesis.

I am a part atheist, sort of speaking. I think ID is just a politically correct term for creationism.
When the techology doesn't helps you then u say it was designed so u can easily dismiss some god intervention. For some is easier to accept ET but God is another story. There are not any realy atheist in the world today. Maybe ID is a brand new religion, that's all.

I'm a Christian conservative who thinks that the Adam and Eve story of creation, or "intelligent design" as some call it, is JUST a story used by primitive people to explain the great mysteries of life. I believe that the evolution theory is probably what happened. Unlike so many who insist that Adam and Eve is how we got here because it's in the bible, I believe that God is omniscient and is capable of creating us with evolution and allowing us, his creation, to figure that out bit by bit. He's the one who gave us the intelligence; he's the one who "created" evolution. I think those who insist on Adam and Eve, as the only explanation are trying to limit the power of God.

Intelligent design? What part of it is "intelligent"? It's just a word the Christians threw in there to make it sound scientific, while it actually opposes the very principles behind the scientific method...

To have a belief in intelligent design, you have to believe that someone did the designing. 'a' theist means - a belief that there is no one to do the design.

Therefore intelligent design is a nonstarter

I'm not an atheist--I'm a Christian.

Intelligent design is phiosophy--not science. Evolution is science--and proven fact. Nor is there any conflict--as real Christians know. Its only the false Christians who lie and try to pas their "creationism"--which is NOT Biblical, anyway--off as science.

Atheists can claim anything they want and it is all equally valid. You see, by being an Atheist, you have no moral absolutes. They ascribe to moral relativism. Simply put, morality means whatever they want it to mean. Even an idiot realizes the danger in that. It is like trying to play cards with someone who does not recognize the authority of the game rules to decide which card has a higher value than another.

In other words, Atheists delude themselves into thinking that they are moral or ethical when what they really do is change the definition of moral or ethical to suit the situation. Why not? It is all relative.

ID will never find anything new on it's own, it will only find an existence in the blank spots of regular science.
Science is an exploration to find answers to questions. ID is not part of this search, neither an answer.
