You either buy into the bible entirely or you don't buy into any of it. You can't pick and choose, do not be angry with me. Jesus said to love thy neighbor as I have love you.

Some of you people are splitting hairs, it says Thou shalt not kill, it doesn't say if they are terrorists its cool. Don't be a hypocrite, people will see that miles away!

I have proven my point extremely well. This is just another example of the Bible contradicting itself. In the future I will point out more contradictions. Thanks for the responses!

It's called Hypocrisy and the world is full of "it"
Look at America :
Anti-abortion but pro capital punishment
Anti illegal immigration but uses it.
Anti-Drug and porn but consumes most of it.
Religious and political leaders who use drugs, run with gay folks but speak against it.
A president who stresses education but doesn't fund it.
Other post are splitting hairs about murder and self-defense however we were lied to about Iraq so technically that's murder and the terrorists who crashed the airplanes died. Afghansitan is a pre-emptive strike and I can support that.
Ultimately the Bible is useful when it's suits them
In my opinion the best way to avoid the hypocrisy problem is by not being all that religious. So when you buy, worship and use your guns leave the Bible at home and don't go to church like everything is fine. To me that's the worst offense you can commit and extremely hypocritical. Of course from America I'd expect nothing less.
The other funny thing about America is when someone uses common-sense and logic they are branded a liberal. When a politician utters rhetoric, nonsense and empty promises they become a great leader. Go figure

Well you see a solider works for the government. Yet he can be a believer in God. And Jesus said "Render unto Caesar the things that are Caesar's and unto God, the things that ar God's."

There is nothing wrong with a Christian who is a believer in God to go and help and share in the defense and support and serving in America's Army. Anyway I bet there are millions of Iraqi citizens and people in the Middle East who are very glad of the American and Coalition forces that are over there.

Thou shalt not kill was not a commandment in war time. Especially when it comes to the defense of a country's survival that is under attack.

That commandment was used in peace time when an ordinary citizen might kill another citizen.

This is just common sense.

Yes and how can eat innocent animals which have been slaughtered when the scriptures say though Shalt not kill. And Isaiah 6:6 3 To Slew and Ox is as if to Slew a man. Seams simple to me and many other Christians. Especially the Essenes and the Seventh Day Adventists. For the original New Testament before King Constantine Changed so many things google gospelofthenazirenes.com Happy to find that Jesus taught Karma, Reincarnation, Vegetarianism and no one goes to hell eternally. Same thing that Krishna Consciousness teaches and they predate Christianity at least 3,000 years.

OK you can quote Exodus Chap. 20. Which by the way means murder.

Now read the rest of the Bible.

You may not understand the Bible, nor how a government is run. Apparently you are part of the sector of people that want to jump on the wagon of ignorance and call it intelligence.

I suggest you read these scriptures before you condemn a President.

Matt. 24:6
Mark 13:7
Luke 12:9
Revelation Chap. 9 in it's entirety.

Some translations say "murder" rather than "kill". Since you presume to quote the Old Testament I'm sure you're aware that God killed many many people and he ordered people to kill others. The genocide of the Canaanites by Moses' crew is one example among many.

"However, in the cities of the nations the LORD your God is giving you as an inheritance, do not leave alive anything that breathes. Completely destroy them—the Hittites, Amorites, Canaanites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites—as the LORD your God has commanded you."
--Deuteronomy 20:16-17

I guess even a loving and merciful God can be in a bad mood on occation.

But I take your point on Iraq. Iraq was not involved in 9/11, Iraq did not have the WMD and that was Bush's justification for the invasion. Iraq is now sold as anti-terrorism but it's not.

I see we have the Biblical literacy of a grapefruit. Thou shalt do no murder:
In the manuscripts it is clearly defined as "lying in wait to do fatal harm", meaning premeditated murder.
War is not premeditated murder.
Self defence is not premeditated murder.
Capitol punishment is not premeditated murder (as a matter of fact it is the will of God that a murder be executed and sent to the Father where he can be confronted by the victim(s).

Your insults of President Bush are clearly
coming from either a lack of ability to use your brain, or the lack of a current news source: We have not been attacked since 9/11. Do you think its because the terrorists have changed their minds and don't wanna attack us anymore? Do you think they like us now? Are you delusional?
We have not been attacked because this President that you so quickly insult, is doing a damn good job at keeping this Country safe from attack, and you cannot deny that fact. And, the man is doing that even though stupid Americans are converting to Islam and swinging our doors wide open to another attack. Why do you think the terrorists hate Bush so much? Because he's not stupid, thats why, and they can't get passed his defences. Those of you who are dancing with Islam are the ones who will be responsible if something does happen;
You are not only jeopardizing your own lives, but jeopardizing all the rest of us as well, along with our children.

Let me tell you something, peacenik: if you don't even have the sense to defend your own family what good are you? When some nut is about to execute your family one by one beginning with your kids, you go ahead and just recite some of the ten commandments to the nut, and I'm sure you'll do just fine. God gave you a brain;
if you don't use it, thats a damn sin.

The problem is in the translation. The Old Testament was written in ancient Hebrew. The word was translated "kill" when the proper choice is actually "murder". Thor shalt not murder is what it really says and means.

The Old Testament is filled with examples of good killing and bad killing. The commandment is in regards to bad killing or murdering. Self defense or protecting the innocent was always seen as a righteous thing to do.

The creature can not ask the author "why did You try this or that?" See Rom 9:20. He explains Himself fairly of course in His be conscious. the real question is "why do human beings refuse Him who has so of course shown His love and mercy for them?" the answer to the question is given in Romans financial ruin a million. however, you will repent, ask His forgiveness and be forgiven. you at the instant are not ignorant in any respect, or you does not be asking questions like this. you will be able to nicely be on the edge of a sparkling existence. you will be able to nicely be shocked. Many others have been. to illustrate, C. S. Lewis and Josh McDowell. To get on your unique question, the bibles i take advantage of do not use the term "fake idol", yet only "idol". The term idol represents a dozen or so Hebrew words (some concerning one yet another) and one Greek be conscious eidolon. Technically, there's a distinction between the guy-made merchandise and the "god", no count if angel or demon. of course, there's a connection in the sense that the idol worshipper is associating the object with the "god". What God is telling us is this - "do not worship something different than Me." To worship something is to characteristic nicely worth to it. The scriptures say that only he's worth to be praised. I easily have got here across that it is real. in case you examine the Scriptures to work out what he's asserting, i think you will additionally hit upon that he's real and acceptable. The issues that the enemy makes use of to accuse Him are fake, and if we have confidence him, then we are deceived. yet you're able to try this. Ask God this. in case you're genuine, exhibit your self to me so i would be conscious of the fact. If he isn't genuine, then no answer would be obtained. If he's genuine, then it is on your interest to get the fact and not be deceived. it is as much as you. meanwhile, i'm going to wish which you're making the main spectacular decision. keep in mind, love is extra useful that the grave. If it weren't for romance, i does not have spent the time sharing this with you as I easily have not something to learn. yet once you do as I advise and you compromise for Him, then i'm going to have won a sister in eternity.

Throughout the Bible you can see where this commandment was cast aside to kill the enemies of God. Clearly, Bush believes that the Iraqis are the enemies of God, and that God supports us. Ironically, they call us the Godless. If you want to know my opinions about this, I believe that Bush saying God is behind us is wrong. Not only because not all of us worship the Christian God, and not because of separation of Church and State - but because we should be behind God. Not him behind us. I don't think old Dubya has realized that. He will one day, I just wonder how many more people he has to kill before it sinks in.

Then maybe you better stop eating meat, because you are killing animals. Don't go to the doctor when you get an infection, because those antibiotics would kill the bacteria.

Fine if you don't like the president or don't want to be in the military or even if you don't support the war. But do not start judging those who protect the country and our freedom.
