I believe and worship God and want to go to heaven. But now I've been thinking about what it would be like. Do you guys think that it may be boring to live for all of eternity doing things? I'm pretty bored right now and living forever sounds like...I don't know. Just wierd. :D

I'm not trying to say I'd rather go to h-e-double hockey sticks, okay. It just seems so confusing! I think I'll live an exciting life now and then just wait until that day comes!

So what will we do? My favorite thing is learn. "For who has known the mind of the Lord, or who became His counselor?" (Romans 11:34) "in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge" (Colossians 2:3). God is the "the high and lofty One who inhabits eternity" (Isaiah 57:15). God is bigger than forever and it will take eternity "to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth and length and depth and height, and to know the love of Christ" (Ephesians 3:18-19). We will never stop learning.

God's Word says we won't have to be in His paradise alone. "I shall fully know even as I also am fully known" (1 Corinthians 13:12). We will not only know our friends and family we will "fully know" them. In other words, there is no need for secrets in Heaven. There is nothing to be ashamed of. There is nothing to hide. We will have eternity to interact with "a great multitude, which no man could number, out of all nations and kindreds and people and tongues" (Revelation 7:9). No wonder Heaven will be a place of infinite learning. Just getting to know everyone will take eternity!

I think we will enter Heaven with glorified bodies but not with perfect knowledge to every knowledge there is. Eternity would then be a good time to learn something new all the time (even like who wrote what or gave thumb-downs to what question at Yahoo Answers if we bother to know by then, and eternal fates of all those people). A chess game between 2 persons in Heaven could even be possible I think.

Hmmm....
That's deep.
I'm Christian and I don't really like the idea of living forever either. If you read Jhonny the Homicidal Maniac, heaven is like this; everyone just sits around in chairs and does nothing. It's not boring though because everyone is completely content and blissed out.
But maybe if it's not like that it'll suck for you? I think it wouldn't be so bad as long as I could still kayak and do color guard. It would suck if you die still waiting for your life to start. Maybe it would be easier for you if you had an exciting life now; quit waiting for your life to start!! I know how that is; it sucks and it's boring.

I have thought about this. The good news is, though, that we cannot comprehend Heaven. We view Heaven from our earthly eyes...and here on Earth it's easy to get bored. Heaven will have things we have never dreamed of and beauty we can't even fathom.
Also, think about this: we will live forever no matter what. Would you rather do that in Heaven or Hell?
Interesting question though...something we will just have to wait and see!!

The argument for God at times if you think about it seems silly.

If you believe you will have eternal life in heaven. If you don't well, who knows.

So what that says is, we believe in God in order to "live" forever and we will give him our undying devotion for granting us this gift.

I don't know. It seems kind of warped to me.

I don't know if I believe life is an accident because when I look at the world I think there must be something else. I'm just not buying what so called religious leader say that something else is.

you're questioning in finite words. how are you going to understand eternity even as all you've favourite and understood is that aspect is going by? God is the in hassle-free words eternal being because He had no starting up, and that i do not bear in mind Him complaining about it. i ought to particularly stay for eternity than die for eternity. you'd be someplace in existence, we were made in equivalent to God after all.

First off there is the Glorious presence of the Lord....then there are people like Moses, the Apostle Paul, Queen Esther, Mary Magdalene and Smith Wigglesigglesworth to ask questions of. And the Bible refers to books being opened....which implies that there are books to be read...There are all kinds of things in Heaven to explore....and that's just the beginning.....

So it would be less boring in hell? At least in heaven you won't be tormented by all sorts of demons. You won't be so hot that you wish that you didn't smell sulfur and burning flesh. All the crying for help from hurting and pain. Yep, sounds like fun to me. NOT!!

The absolute LAST thing I would want is to spend eternity with the killer God of the Bible and his followers. Hell would be preferable to that.

In heaven or hell your spirit will never be dead like we think of dead.

Heavens glory can not be described in this world words. I want to be there forever. Because Jesus died for me I can. I praise him.
