This week my doctor perscribed me Klonopin. I used seroquel before for anxiety attacks but wanted to switch because I didnt like the side effects. I took a klonopin 5 hours ago for anxiety and i never noticed any effect. So obviously I need dosages adjusted with it or something. But I dont want ot take a larger dose without first talking to the doctor because it is an addictive drug and i want to be careful with it. But I still feel like crap right now and have no way of contacting the doctor so I was wondering if I take a seroquel is there a risk of it reacting badly with the klonopin in my system? cuz i need something that works and i know the seroquel works.

i took it

and to people who say seroquel shouldnt be perscribes for anxiety
it is perscribed off label for anxiety all the time. It's also used off label for sleep. Just because it was originially intended as an anti psychotic doesnt mean that it shouldnt be perscribed off label for other things if it works

I used to be on clonazepam(klonopin) and seroquel together. Clonazepam for anxiety and Seroquel as an antipsychotic and I never had any issues with it. The worst that can happen if you take them together i think is that you will just notice a bit more sedation from the seroquel. But it sounds like thats what you need in your case i am guessing. I am no doctor but i am just saying from my experience that I was prescribed the both of those together and there were no negative effects. Good luck. ps u can email me at limousineorama@yahoo.com.au if you need

Klonopin is a mild anticonvulsant and part of the Benzodiazepine family of medication, normally prescribed as the first line anti-anxiety meds. Other popular benzodiazepines include Xanax, Valium and Ativan. Their work very well for anxiety and panic attacks as they kick in very quickly and provide little to no side effects. They ARE however, VERY ADDICTIVE and come with very harsh withdrawal symptoms. Klonopin is the least addictive of the bunch, due to it's longer half life (the amount of time the drug stays in your system). Xanax on the other hand, has an incredibly short half life and is the most of addictive of the group. All benzodiazepines are interchangable and are basically the same in the long run. If you have a history of substance abuse and are experiencing mild to severe anxiety, you're Dr. will NOT prescribe you a benzodiazepine. Seroquel is an atypical antipsychotic, which are used primarily to treat schizophrenia and schizoaffective disorders. Seroquel is the mildest the atypicals and can be used to replace benzodiazepines to treat panic and anxiety, without the nasty addictive effects. It provides a similar calming effect to benzodiazepines (not as fun) and in higher doses, can put you to sleep for a really long time. I've taken both and Klonopin is certainly more fun, however, Seroquel is much safer and non-addictive.

AFTER playing human guinea pig for excess daytime sleepiness or narcolepsy without cataplexy or burnout or add- sleepy type, whatever you want to call it.
since xyrem was suggested to improve night sleep to help reduce daytime sleepiness. Xyrem was politically incorrect as the date rape drug in the 70's and 80's and was available in healthfood stores.

the combination at nighttime of 1mg klonopin and 100 mg Seroquel( $2/night vs 1000/night for xyrem), the best result I got reducing from 100 mg/ day of the evil Ritalin to the 70mg/day of the evil Adderall.

bty the politically correct Provigil gave me high blood pressure about 5 yrs ago after less than a month on it and switching back to Ritalin brought by blood pressure from 140/100 to 120/70. Don't believe everything you read about how bad the stimulants are. I was told by my Dr that the amount of Seroquel at night was a tiny dose and I show no signs of psychosis, only burnout

I have taken Klonopin for a year 1/2 (between 1-4 mgs/day) and Serequel for 2 years until a few months ago. There was a time I took them every day together, there SHOULD be no adverse reaction.
HOWEVER SEREQUEL IS AN ANTI-PSYCOTIC AND SHOULD NOT BE GIVEN FOR ANXIETY! Klonopin is for anxiety, but Serequel should NOT be given just for anxiety or Panic Attacks.

Klonopin is a good antianxiety medicine and need to be taken regularly to be beneficial. Any changes in dosages should be under the advise of your physician. Seroguel has been used to help person sleep and control anxiety but per se not an antianxiety medicine. Its an entirely different class of medicine. I think if you cannot get a hold of your doctor you don't take anything else, better safe than sorry.

Get off those meds long term effects are horrible. Find out the core reason for attacks and learn how to fix it them. And watch the rythmn of your breathing. Geez I hate these MD's for even prescribing these drugs.
